Moss TD dance

I'm soooo offended. My God! I laughed my ass off. I laughed just as hard hearing all those manly ex-football players on sports shows crying about how offensive and rude it was. I'm sure the FCC is trying to figure out ways to fine the NFL, Fox, and Moss. Give me a break...

seriously, what was up with that? all those guys on cbs or fox or whatever where practially in tears because they were soooo offended by this. honestly, i didn't know what moss was doing until someone explained it to me. people acted like asses when they played the game, most of them probably acted like asses at one point or another too. TO and moss are just dancing and having a good time. these sports people need to stop blowing stuff out of proportion.

i think it was very crass and those of you that think it was funny how would u feel if you were say in a bar and someone just stood in front of you and faked mooned you? would you laugh then as well? the fans were giving him crap for sure but for people watching tv to see that and not know any reason behind why he did it and without a back story or a reason of any type will find it tasteless. and to me it appeared like he was going to wipe his ass against the goalpost too and thought twice about going that far and stopped. i mean when you think about it, why did he run from the side of the endzone to the goal post to moon the crowd? when i saw it i thought what the hell is he doing and didnt laugh in the least. and again i say t.o. may do a lot of celebration but nothing THAT tasteless.

Now that I know the story behind it, I think it's very funny. :jump:

On the other hand, if you've seen enough of what Moss says and does both on and off the field, it becomes plainly evident that he has some major issues. :p

wow you sound more outraged (!) than i acutally am. anyway the act of him mooning, fake or not, on national tv is an inappropiate celebration, to me at least and i'm just expressing my dislike for it. sorry if that bothers you.

Give him a break. TD's would be boring if every receiver just dropped the ball and ran to the bench. Though Moss's celebration, or lack there of, was funny, it was somewhat dirty.

If you haven't heard, the Packer fans moon the visitors' bus on the way out, according to Tony Dungy - he should know, being a former Vikes assistant. Moss was just giving them a taste of their own classless medicine. Packer fans are the worst, most annoying people alive - biggest homers ever. Farve (sic) is God and there's no ifs/ands/buts - it wasn't Farve's fault he threw 4 INTs!

And what if someone like Shaq or Manning did the same thing Moss did, someone who the media loves and adores? They'd probably be laughing!

I guess that's what seperates the likeable, enjoyable sports figures from the flat-out stupid and idiotic. Imagining Peyton Manning or Shaq ever doing that is just moronic.

And trying to say what Moss did is justified because someone else did it before him is extremely irresponsible. Albert Belle punched out a camera man, so that means it's ok for it to happen again? Ron Artest goes into the stands and punches a fan so that makes it ok in the future? Come on...

You never saw Jerry Rice doing stupid dances after touchdowns. Or Barry Sanders. Or Walter Payton. Or Joe Montana. Moss thinks he's the best receiver in the league then act like it. Act like you belong in the end zone, act like you've been there before.

Shaq and Peyton wouldn't do that because they have class. Randy Moss is severely lacking in this department.

It's not this particular incident that has everyone in an uproar. It's that he's constantly demonstrated that he doesn't have class, and this is just the latest misadventure in a series of mishaps that makes it look like he doesn't care about anyone but himself - which just so happens to be the case.

I think that's why everybody's so disgusted with it. That's just my interpretation of the situation, though.

Edit: After reading soloredd's post, I'd like to politely disagree with one thing you said. You said that Moss should act like he's been in the end zone before. I think the very best offensive players should act like they're going to get in there again; who cares about this touchdown? There's going to be more.

i understand what you are saying, but from an argument standpoint, you absolutely cannot compare dancing to physically attacking someone else. you just can't.

ok, so i had an opinion on this that people were taking it too far, and that it wasn't this travesty that the announcers said it to be, then i saw the clips and found out he PRETENDED to moon them...i origionally thought he really mooned them...

for those who don't know, everytime the vikes leave the gb stadium on their bus, the GB fans all moon the bus.

it may have been excessive, but i believe it was warrented.

now someone taking a cell phone out of their sock and using PROPS for a celebration.. THAT is going too far

I have no problem with a player giving back to the fans, just what they are giving to him. Most of the news stations dont even talk about it. Why is no one upset about the degrading morals of the people of Green bay? haha. I mean, it was an endzone celebration. How is it any different than getting into the endzone and thrusting your pelvis. That is at least sexual in nature, and has merit for being "lude". I mean, Moss "pretended" to moon the fans. He didn't even do it for real. I am more offended by all of the levitra commercials. I can easily explain to my young son that the reason that randy moss did that dance was because the fans of Green Bay pull their pants down when the players leave the staduim. I have a hard time explaining why that guy on TV needs to last "longer" and why it is more "enjoyable". Haha, ok, I stole that last part from Wilbon, I dont really have a kid. But, if I did, i'd have trouble explaining it! :)

Leave Moss alone. I dont really care what people do in the endzone, as long as all players keep their clothes on.

Precisely. Exactly. Hit the nail on the head.

I say we ought to let them do whatever they want, as long as they don't plant something for the express purpose of a celebration.

Come on, you know you want to see an entire offensive line dancing in the end zone when they score a TD just as the clock expires in triple-overtime.

I want to see something like that Chicago Bears music video... only in the endzone. It's game! Aren't they supposed to be having fun? Hell, aren't we?!

This isn't going to contribute to the downfall of society.

"The Simple Life" and "Who's Your Daddy?" have handled that quite nicely.

Here is something else to think about. No that didn't "offend" me either. But I still think it was classless. I didn't have to see the Packer fans doing whatever it is they do. If he felt he needed to get even with that let him moon them as he leaves. The two are not equal..and even if it was, that doesn't make it right.

But you have to admit the stakes get higher and higher, my main problem is, as is the NFL's, what's next? It keeps building and building. So you guys that don't care what they do after they score, do your really mean that? I mean I can think of some really bad things that has nothing to do with taking cloths off.

Having said all that, the media has dwelled on this way to long.. lets move on now.

I hope the NFL doesn't take action with Moss' dance. I thought it was great, even after watching it over and over. I believe he might go unfined because I think TD celebrations and things like that is what gets the higher ratings. Sure, its great to see a guy like Marvin Harrison score with a great catch, and I respect his classy attitude with handing the ball back to the ref and going to the bench. But, whats the fun in that?

It shouldn't matter if it was funny or if the Green Bay fans did it to them in the past. This was on national tv. Don't any of you that think that this was great have kids? Obviously not! Now, thanks to this and Janet Jackson's titty, every game more than likely will now be shown with a 30 sec. delay. I hope the NFL lowers the boom and fines and suspends him.

Was there any nudity involved in this celebration? I don't think so. And watching the first time I had no clue what he was doing anyways. The chances of him being suspended? 0.

I don't agree. Did you happen to see the cell phone incident last year. Forget who did it, but he was fined and sat out a game for that. That was minor compared to this. Moss disrespected the NFL fans and gave the NFL a black eye. The higher ups in the NFL will lower the boom. Moss might beat the fine or whatever, but I'll bet that the original fine and suspension is pretty stiff.

So its ok for fans to yell some of the most assinine **** at the players but the players can't do a motion towards the crowd? I know life isn't fair and blah blah, but this is taking it past that line. Joe Horn did the cell phone incident and he didn't sit out any games. He received a fine of $30k and that was it. I'm willing to bet money that Randy Moss will not be suspended in regards to this celebration.

Since you are younger, look at it this way. If you are at school and mouth off to a teacher you will get detention. If that teacher mouths off back to you, he/she will probably lose their job because it is the un-professional thing to do. Football players are being emulated by young kids all over this country, therefore, they have to hold themselves to a higher standard and conduct themselves appropriately. The fans pay for the right to "bitch" at the players and if its a problem, they get kicked out of the stadium.
