Joswin
I currently have some brand new copies of.. Microsoft ? Windows ? NT v4.0 Workstation * They consist of a Shrink Wrapped and Sealed Licence (which doubles as the manual) and a new OS CD, and as an extra a Service Pack 6a CD (still sealed also). They are not boxed but they are new and unused (PID says OEM but they have no PC manufacturer logo's on them or anything). So if you have an older PC that needs an OS this is a perfect solution as I am selling these very cheap. I got them originally for someone else but they don?t need them now so im stuck with them. I was going to keep them but I thought I might as well sell them off as I already have a copy of NT myself anyway. All im asking is ?20 each, that?s for the Sealed Licence, OS CD and SP6a CD. The Service Pack disk alone sells for around ?10-15 from Microsoft?s very own site. Oh they are also genuine products btw, not fakes or copies just incase you are wondering. They have all the holograms etc in the righ:)places. :) So if you are interested drop me an message at robhague@msn.com That?s all -Regards *edit: sorry about that its the workstation version, not with it today. hehe. Forgot to add also that they will be going on eBay on 'Buy Now' in about a weeks time, but i thought id ask on here as i seem to have neglected this par:)of neowin :)

And then get ****ed off when it doesn't work? That's pretty dumb.

Obviously you can tell by your posts that you have no idea of what goes on in the business world. I would gladly snag up these copies if I needed them. Try running a render farm or maybe have 300 desktops and you want your enviroment to stay NT4. Nothing sucks more than a mixed desktop environment for an IT. If you don't want NT4 still shrink wrapped then don't post. No one is interested in your uninformed posts. Do a reality check kiddies, businesses look for deals, not warez and depending on the price this may be a sweet deal. Robert_Hague, have you tried posting this on an auction block. Oh lets see, to hell with NT4 and let me upgrade all the work stations with XP and then be forced to upgrade to OfficeXP and all the other bogus upgrades MS comes out with. Business, bottom line, saving money.

pizza
Well what are these??!?!?!??! Workstation? Server? Server Enterprise Edition? Terminial Server Edition? ALso...one thing to point out. NT 4 will run not only on an i386 but also on DEC Alphas among others. 2000 is NOT 64 bit... Anyone else miss the DEC Alphas? :(
_Pablo
Buying an NT4 license for ?20 makes sense... Instead of paying ~?200 for an XP Pro license you can pay ~?130 for an XP Pro Upgrade license...that's if you want to stay legal as opposed to hitting the warez. KaosAD
Ahhh yes, DEC Alphas, forgot about them. Since Intel bought them :(

Compaq bought them, and I'm pretty sure you can still buy them, even though they've decided to drop them, and only they only support for TRU64 and not NT
KaosAD
Woah, now wait a sec. Look at where the funds and interest comes from. Compaq bought them but Intel owns them. Where do you think they got all their ground work for the Itanium? Actually, we should start another thread for the DEC Alpha talk so we don't hijack this one :) On a quick note Compaq is not Alpha. Compaq made Alphas but Intel owns them and will slowly phase them out. This happened quite a while ago: Intel Buys Digital's Chip Business
atomoverride
20$ for a copy of NT? is it SERVER or Workstation? I will sell the opened legal copies of Windows NT I have laying around for 5$. [Edited by mod & user PMed] Please folks please be mindful of No Warez (links) or Cracks: These kinds of posts are not tolerated here This post was bordering on that, so was amended. Joswin
Its in retirement, all technical/online support will be gone by 2005. Thats 3 years away. All these 'NT is dead' and 'download XP from kazaa' and the rest, well some of us are not warez kiddies and NT is a solid stable OS. If you are not old enough to accept that then please go suck your thumb in XP by all means :p. Sorry but it was getting annoying the more i read down the thread, im selling them thats all. Ive not said this is better than XP or 2000, im saying i have some copies thats all and they are going cheap. :right: silly_walk, deron dantzler & KaosAD know what they are talking about, NT is a business OS. Its still worth while in the right hands.
cheekymonkey
Too right Rob.... I've just put together a network of PCs and a server running NT4, SQL Server and Wonderware across a shopfloor at work.... does the job just fine.... at a much lower cost than it would have been chasing the cutting edge lol. NT4 still has its uses given the right environment.
