My first car

1976 Buick Skyhawk

pros

V-6...Very fast

cons

none that I can think of

mods and fixes history

In-tank fuel pump died and I could not find a replacement. Hard wired a universal fuel pump directly behind the carb and ran the power to a toggle switch below the steering column (doubled as anti-theft device)

Current Status

Barely made it to the junk yard where I parked it and walked home (purchased my second car later that day)

Good acceleration

Rear wheel drive

Nice styling

BMW bragging rights

Cons

None!

Mods

A tour bus driver "didnt see me" and sideswiped me without signalling, which spun my car 180 degrees across three lanes of trafic, hitting a divider and rolling twice down an embankment. Needless to say the car was totalled, though i kept the engine, and euro bumpers so i can rebuild my baby.

1969 Firebird H.O.

350 ci / 325 hp

4 speed

posi

speedo went to 160

It was very fast

Sold it to my bro when he got out of the Navy, the $1000 a year insurance was hard to pay. I had no tickets, no accidents, it was just that much for full coverage on a hot car like that around 71 when your 16.

1999 Toyota 4Runner. Here is what it looked like when I bought it:

http://sethkinast.com/photosold/albums/use...s/10001/car.jpg

And here is what it looks like now. It's a lot nicer car than I ever could have afforded had I bought a new one or even a used one.

1993 Dodge Dakota (3.9L V6)

Pros

Good Runner.

4wd is great for icey mornings.

Low miles for a 12 year old almost daily ran, (84,963 miles)

More power than my buddies trucks :)

Manual trans. is way more fun than auto

New clutch

New front brake pads & rotors

Cons

The radio only works sometimes.

Brakes I don't like to much, its like 80% front / 20% rear :(

Balding tires (they are original)

Needs muffler :shifty:

Gas mileage..its a truck hehe.

Mods

Straight pipe to replace my muffler. It's a temporary thing. ;)

Current Status

In the backyard, with a full tank of gas. I drive it to school and work.

No accidents, bumper to bumper contact with my friend is on purpose. And on country roads.

Remember, I'm not tailgating.. :shifty: I'm drafting!

DRAFTING:

The practice of two or more cars, while racing, to run nose-to-tail, almost touching. The lead car, by displacing the air in front of it, creates a vacuum between its rear end and the nose of the following car, actually pulling the second car along with it.

jesus! that must have been an extremely expensive repair bill for a 'cheap car'.

how much did it cost to get the chassis straightened out? how did you manage to find all the proper parts on the cheap?

    • My hunch is that EU rejected Apple's proposal because Trusted System Agent would be an intermediary offered to third party AI's (this article is also worded as such) but Siri AI itself would not pass this intermediary. This would cause a situation where Siri AI would have more direct system access and offer it an unfair advantage. (speaking from EU regulator perspective here) Apple is citing security issues with doing what EU asked for, and I think this also supports this theory, because truly direct system access like Siri AI would make it impossible to control third party AI's running on the devices and e.g. reign them in via adjustments to Trusted System Agent. So, I _think_ this is the sticking point right now.
    • I have not even heard of that game. will take a look
