i wonder has anyone heard of the Philadelphia project

Scarey thought actually. Can you imagine the kind of power a nations military would have with some kind of working "cloaking device" behind it? There was talk of Hitler having devised a similar device for submarines, although i dont know what ever eventuated from that.

Publically at least, the US Military have achieved "cloaking" with the Stealth Bomber or SR-71. This shows up on all Radars as being nothing more than the size of a common bird. The same technique is being used on submarines and has to do with the types of metals used and shape of the radar detection "bounce". So cloaking from technology is almost 100% possible, the next step would be invisability which is extremly hard to accomplish.

Even if it were feasable, i dont imagine it would be possible without someway of being able to "bend" light around a ship or vessel. I also imagine the kind of technology, even power needed to achieve this would be monumental. But hey...its starting t border on the realms of star trek anyhow. Still, it is all very interesting in theory.

Well, how would we know if they haven't advanced on this technology since the US keeps so many top secrets.

I wouldnt mind a miniture teleportation device. Maybe like the one Homer had where he was just able to reach through and pull a b33r out of the fridge without leaving the comfort of his sofa lol Not too shabby:P

Maybe you could invent your own invisibility machine for transporting anything you like Keldyn. Then sell it and become a billionaire.

Yeah they made a movie on this was quite intresting,

infact id like to see a remake of it, could so some very nice sfx with it.

So Many movies id like to see remade but ahwell.

But yer I got into the Philadelphia stuff after reading reference to it in the Red Alert 1 Manual relating to the chronosphere.

After that saw the movie and read a book on it, very intresting stuff indeed.

What made you bring it up anyway?

True, there is not any telling what the US and Russia are trying to develop under closed doors.

It would be cool if someone would develop a device that renders a ship, vehicle, or aircraft invisible. It would change the way wars would be fought. A teleportation device would be cool as well. Imagine if something happens on one side of the world response could arrive from the other side of the world instantly.

Invisibility is overrated its only good for hiding things or instilling fear.

1. Would be good for hiding valuable equipment, or entire weapons or other high security bases.

1.1 But considering a thermal satellite or other imaging devices would probably still be able to see it, not too effective.

2. Not being able to see an intruder or enemy is a very ferful part of a fight or war.

2.2 But the enemy/intruder is still just that, and once you realise that much things much easier

2.2 partly inspired bya point from Sun Tzus The Art of War.

well my maths teacher brought it up

because first of all i asked about if maths had new formulas each year released just like words get added to the oxford dictionary so she started talking about the 4th dimension and then philidelphia project

They are conspiracies that stated that it worked for one time only. A mexian-american who has at a dock in Delware or NJ(I forget where all the experiments took place) said the ship create a neon -like glow around it and dissappeared. Appearently it showed up in a port two days later and no one could account for its whereabouts for those days. The story was on a History Channel show a one time. But I dont believe that. just found it interesting.
