New Speakers

Hey

I have got 2 big disco speakers, each speaker has 2 3 and half inch phono connecters, ive put a jack on the end of each piece of speaker wire, so i have 4, Then connected them to the HiFi, but they dont work, any ideas?

Do they need a seperate power source? Speakers usually do

Nope. I have never known any HiFi speakers that require a seperate PS

Yeah i took them for the fun of it.

Them speakers will alost certainly need to be plugged in to a power source.

The speakers probaly dont have an amp built in. Idk where these people are getting the idea that all computer speakers are powerd. You are going to need to have an amplifyer though. (if you want any sound though)

Theres no way they can be plugged in! And i remember when they were in use at the police station they were never plugged into mains, Regarding amp, it doesnt work in my HiFi, maybe thats not powerful enough?

Yeah lol, THanks :)

It was the actual jacks, that i had soildered on wrong! And to test them, i just used a 9v battery :D
