A small screen on the light switch panel displays on incoming message in the entry of the Microsoft Home, in Redmond, Wash., Monday, May 13, 2002. The home has been the software corporation's showroom for consumer technology of the future since 1994. The 2002 version of the impeccably designed "house" demonstrates the ways that technology can make a network of consumer electronics "enhance experiences" for the average family of the future, said Jonathan Cluts, director of consumer prototyping and strategy for Microsoft. The monitor in the kitchen announces that the microwave has finished cooking in the Microsoft Home, in Redmond, Wash., Monday, May 13, 2002. The same message displays simultaneously on other monitors in the house, like the screen in the living room, in the background. A scanner reads the code on a bag of flour, left, and indicates several possible recipes using flour, during a demonstration in the Microsoft Home, in Redmond, Wash., Monday, May 13, 2002. House Speaks: You have 20 more days to activate me, if you don't - THATS IT! You're Outta here.

House Speaks: You are required to activate your home. If you wish you can wait and come home to a later time and try then. But untill then you have to live somewhere else

But if something goes wrong, you're locked out of your house :s

Microsoft House: We're experiencing slight difficulties. Please try your front door again in 3 hours.

Microsoft House: It seems there's something illegal going on in Room #6, known as billy's room. Spy on the little sob?

Microsoft House: There have been 23 unwanted attacks on your house from outside sources. Would you like to report these attacks to Microsoft?

...but I have to admit I'd take that house in a heartbeat!

I wonder if there is computer system crash then there will be chaos inside the house, like the washing machine will burst water out onto the floor or like the bed will fold out when people still asleep :D

Awhile back I saw a show on hacking [ok, it was really really cheesy] that had something of this sort in it. The house was fully automated - and the car too. Some one hacked in and were torturing these poor people, lol. They had the house order gallons and gallons of ice-cream, and then a day after arrival they shut off the fridge - melted ice cream everywhere. Think of the fun we could have, er - I mean, um.......

ahahaha! I can't imagine living in one of those though. Just think, someone can just friggin hack your house, lock you in or out.

And say you are locked in, they disable the system from inside, rendering you helpless and if the person's really good, cloak your status and makes it appear that everything is ok. (say if in the future, system will run a routine check from central MS/police station)

[edit]

lol, but I just thought of this:

mmm, you can always just break the damn windows, hahahahaha!
