LCD or Plasma? I've no idea, so I thought I'd ask.

plasma for some reason. I don't know why. I'm basing my answer strictly on the price difference.

I generally prefer LCD. It's a more mature technology that is quickly gaining ground. The only advantage plasmas usually have on LCD is brightness and that's simply because too many people associate a bright picture with a good picture.

LCD, generally, will last longer than most cheap plasmas, however, you do have to worry about dead pixels and any other internal damage. It's not easy to repair an internal problem on an LCD due to the extreme fragility of the Liquid Crystal and it's need to really be exposed only in a clean room.

that depends plasma screen are larger in size but tend to get quit dim after just two years LCD's last a little longer but are generally smaller thats the only real differnces between the two either way there lots of money so if you can afford one and have the choice of either LCD or Plasma just Flip a Coin and take it ok

Plasma's suffer from the burn-in effect if a static image stays on the screen too long (similar to that of a projection type TV).

LCDs don't.

Newer units have supposed methods to prevent this.
