bangbang023 Veteran Posted February 3, 2005 Veteran Share Posted February 3, 2005 Toshiba 52HM84 or Samsung HL-P5063W would be the only ones fitting into your budget, although they are a bit smaller. That's not counting a possible service plan to cover things like the light bulb (short lifespan) and wiring.

Snipe
Because those are probably rear projection TVs - they are cheaper and bulkier and I guess they do not have as good of picture either.

The set is overly bright and thus suffers from some graineness in the picture. i was takin a look at some toshibas- the 57h93, 57h84, and 65h84, theyre all bigger and cheaper, any specific reason why? 585405739[/snapback] Rear projection TV's offer a much dimmer picture with a very very narrow viewing angle, meaning unless you sit right in front of them, at the perfect level, you won't get a good picture. Digital Projos, such as DLP, LCoS, or LCD Projection offer a brighter picture with a viewing angle almost comparable to that of Plasmas with ranges starting at 160 degrees and going as high as 170 degrees, meaning you can sit pretty far to the side and still get a good looking picture.
