The ONLY thing I might hate about any of my 5 machines is that my oldest one, pre-1997, isn't upgradeable to XP Pro or even W2K. Otherwise, every one of them run as good today as the day I acquired them.

im having the same problem with my rig, and as for the things to check suggested by Chode.. i have a brand new PS, and my cpu/gpu temps are normal and yet my system still likes to reboot whenever it feels like it...

thats about the only thing that i hate about my computer.

Well I have a Mac so that basically means: No spam mail, no internet crashes, no pop-up ads everywhere, no slow performance after using it a while, no spyware, no viruses and the system looks like a dream.

I voted "None of the above" :D

How about, I hate my computer because it was worth $800 before but now only worth about $300? lol

I totally agree with that statement. I've put over a grand of upgrades into this thing, and it's not even worth the $200 I paid for the stock system.

Slow performance at times. Compatibility issues with Firefox. The fact that I'm being told I need to reinstall Windows at least once or twice a year, or my computer will get screwed up. The fact that I can't seem to uninstall IE properly, even with all the instructions I've read and methods I've used (I need to reinstall IE to try and fix a problem with Norton Personal Firewall), and I can't reinstall without a total uninstall).

1. Spam mail.

2. I should be able to safely play whack-a-mole with any pop ups on my screen and not worry about spyware.

3. The noise. I need to cut the grills, as my "silent" fans are humming on it.

4. Not about my computer, but just having a computer..... Games are too expensive if they end up being crap. More demos pre-release please.

I hate how my computer is never the way I want it, always SOMETHING that I need/want to buy for it. hehe.

and the fact that I get so much ****ing spam in my email addresses.

and I LOVE the fact that MY computer ISN'T a MAC, for they suck my PC's balls!!! hahaha

XP with SP2 never crashes, I never get spyware, or viruses so I'd have to say how the lid on the front of my case snapped off when I accidentily punted it the other day. Ever WEAK

SHouldnt the title of this thread be "what do you hate most about the INTERNET"? since all of the options seem to be related to that. The only thing I would say that I hate about my computer is that it was outdated way too soon. :pinch:

Working with CD's, because I have a cheap drive and it tends to freeze my computer when it stalls (which is quite often) and I have to either eject or wait for it to un-stall itself.

I vote None of the Above

The biggest complaint I have about my computer is the guest accounts I created on it are so crippled they barely function. I don't know how I did it but my Guest accounts can't show MSN display pictures, receive MSN files, create ZIP files, open Excel documents, Create Favorites, even use certain programs.

All I basically did was add the User accounts up in the Guests group and then restrict that group from writing to certain system and progam folders... but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to un-cripple these accounts.

Can anyone point me to some advice or articles on guest accounts for XP or NTFS permissions? Soemthing somewhere is screwed up and I can't figure it out.

Much appreciated.

Thanks!

The thing that I hate most......is not about the computer itself - but moreso the 'Internet'.

Look at us - we are in 2005. Some people have 10mbit connections - and all the crap on the Internet slows everything down. DOS attacks for example, pain in the arse. Viruses and spam travelling around, wasting CPU time and bandwidth. If the Web was clean and totally efficient - we would experiece a lot less hassle and faster connections.

My computer itself is fine. Take good care of it, maintain it - and you will be a happy bunny. Only the user decides to let spyware/adware/malware install on your system. There are loads of free programs out there that will protect you from common threats. Go and get them.
