psh, since there are alot of apple lovers here

heres what i hate about MY mac

cannot be upgraded to os 10.3 because of USB! how ****** up is that?

it randomly freezes or the display doesnt come back from screensaver mode

i *HAVE* to have a 8 gig partition on the first platter or else the OS wont start

ive had to Reinstall the os literally around 12 times already, most of hte time was because i mistakenly updated to 10.2.8 and it crapped out, i have to stay at .4

completelly no compatibility with my old hardware that i have lying around for the PC.. (this is why apple will never go x86) NO DRIVERS!a rgh

loud ass fan, NO FLOPPY SUPPORT! arrrrgh

ok thats it.. i vented

btw, i have a powermac g3 300mhz... dont say its old it runs OSX just fine (speedy) but NOT good! thats why i have my sister use the piece (all she does is go to nick.com or cartoonnetwork anyway) ill stick to pearpc with Tiger build.

  • 10 months later...

man... i hate that the mic port has not worked since i got it. not sure if its just becaue my mic is old and port is new and maybe tech got upgrated and i just need a new one. Also that the 64bit drivers arent all available for it right now, or maybe ever.(you would think that if they make a 64bit motherboard then they would release 64bit drivers for it...

I hate it when I have unexpected data loss or alteration. AKA when programs behave inproperly. Then I'd need to spend a Long time fixing it. Also hate it when other people use my computer because they most likely and usually do SOMETHING unintentionally that leaves some small bug that i'd need to fix WHEN I discover it.

I suppose why our results are so different is that the first few options are usually not a problem since the tech community keeps their PCs running at optimal performance all the time. And for all of you complaining about speed, there are most likely a few hundred PCs which are slower than yours, and they are not complaining. Technology literate people rulez...

Well, awhile ago i was taking the stickers off my computer (2 years after I got it) and I couldn't get one off the USB cover so I grabbed a bottle of Nail Polish Remover :| . Well the sticker came off but also some of the paint did too  . So I brought a bottle of silver spray paint and repainted the USB cover and put it back on the computer with my parents or my bro even noticing a difference  . Still bugs me though

The only thing i hate about my computer if anything, would have to be the fact that I jumped the gun and bought it in december of 04, and that it has no PCI express slot, and i'm too cheap to just buy a new motherboard.

There is A LOT that I hate, but I'll try to keep it brief.

The only thing about the computer itself: integrated graphics :pinch:

Bloated and / or buggy software

I hate how 'loose' XP is. Windows doesn't have good systems for everything.

Take for example when you install a program: The installer has to manually extract and place all files, create registry keys, install services / drivers, place itself in startup, create shortcuts, register itself in add/remove programs, etc.

Then when you uninstall a program, it has to do all of this itself. And usually, it leaves a whole lot of crap behind, which you have to remove yourself.

I hate MSI installers, they're horrible, I wish they didn't exist. Why is it that when I click the handwrite tab in MSN messenger, it wants some file off the frontpage cd ?!?!

And I really hate the fact that you need tools just to maintenance XP. I'm not talking about anything like an antivirus or antispyware. I'm talking about software which erases temporary files, cleans / repairs the registry, repairs corrupt drivers, etc.

I would switch, but Linux doesn't have enough support and has too much of a learning curve. Apple on the other hand, I simply don't know enough about it to consider making the switch...

needs moar powa!!111

and less heat :pinch:

but other than that...nothing

a bunch of the stuff on the poll is more user related...

the user will probably be the one to download the virus/spyware and the extra bloat stuff to cause the slow performance and the popups

the spam and internet crashes would just be internet stuff....not related to the computer (unless the user screwed something)

;)

Well I don't have that many issues with this pc, only that I wish it had a 3.4 ghz processor instead of a 2.66 and I wish my graphic card was a 7800 gtx instead of a 9600 se :p

But on my crap pc I need more ram :p

The only thing my computer ever does that is not to my liking is:

-Anything related to CD's, just no. It's not worth the hassle with this thing. I simply burn CD's on other computers.

-Photoshop can render stuff kind of slow due to my low-end specs (64mb videocard, 1.2ghz cpu)

Other than that I'm perfectly happy with it. I've modded the hell out of Windows and made it preform exactly how I want it to.

I hate it that my ashtray rattles louder when I do CPU intensive tasks. Other than that I am extremely happy with my current rig. I guess a table could fix that problem but that makes too much sense.
