Best DivX compatible dvd player?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of getting a divx player but I'm not sure which one to buy. Anyone got any suggestions?

JVC xv-np10sl is a nice unit.

Avoid that JVC like the plague. I owned one myself and it offers pretty poor performance, and a load of incompatability with many divx files. The player also has issues with some normal movies and pausing quite often. This experience wasn't off of just one unit either, I swapped it out 4 different times, and even have had friends who tried the unit, its junk.

Look into the Philips DVP642, far superior in picture quality, compatability, playback not to mention having a much better price point.

I have the Philips DVP642...plays Xvid, Divx, MPEG4, you name it! MY only qualm is that it doesn't support OGM, but i can live without it.

I like the Phillips as well, even with its minor annoyances.

it takes a little more tinkering but maybe look into getting an xbox with media center on...
