MrKuro
I think he is asking what will IE7 be like compared to opera or Firefox, and what is our opinion. If that is the question, then I will say, I guess we will find out when it comes out, and my opinion is that firefox is great, opera is nice, but IE7 could be promising. I am not browser loyal, and will switch to the better browser when the time comes. So far it is Firefox. However IE7 needs tabbed browsing to even be considered, and a load of better features. Actually I still can't see myself switching, I love the skin I'm using, and can't imagine browsing getting much better than how I have it, but then again, time will tell. MrKuro
If it is about looks, then that question is not very good, because firefox and opera can take on so many looks using skins and customization. I think IE7 will look nicer than the current version, but probably not nicer than firefox or opera. We will see. PEACE:
ZZOOzzoo
I like IE the way it is right now. It's the lightest and the fastest, and it's always good to have one feature-minimal browser on my computer.
akaladis Veteran Posted February 16, 2005 Veteran Share Posted February 16, 2005 Only Microsoft knows right now. It *better* be a step forward in terms of security, usability and customization. Not that I have any plans on switching back to IE :p
Toastyone
It better have have tabs!!! I use foxfire, but if IE could get their act together I would use that if it was better, but even if it was great, no tabs means I don't use it

lucianmarin
I hope that Microsoft will reinvent today look of a browser. They can do that, they have the platform XPSP2, best employes and more than 90% of the browsers market share. But this will be a very hard job because, if you don't know, the current engine of Internet Explore 6.0 is almost the same as the first version of IE 3.0. IE is using a very old engine from NCSA Mosaic. (Look under Help > About Internet Explorer)

ryanmcv
Seriously how many people here use translators to write their posts? :pinch: 585506778[/snapback] Would you prefer him to post in a language you can't read or understand at all? He wants to be a part of the board, and for some people, using translators is the only way to do that. So back off. k? :) I wish the IE7 of like Opera, because opera of according to me fastest browser. He is saying that he would like IE7 to be like Opera because Opera, according to his understanding, is the fastest browser for Windows. :)

smart001
I Will be giving IE7 a try. FF has a lot of cool options that I really like that are available via plug-ins. If IE7 has tabbed browsing at the minimm then I could poltentially be happy. The only problem I see MSFT running into is the fact that a lot of people will have had 8 or 9 months to fine tune FF. Right mnow mine is exactly where I want it and probably would not change I will try it though, I am not 100% die-hard FF

shichiroji4
Why's everyone getting so exicted over a well-known crappy browser IE? IE7 is nothing but a buch of security fixes packaged under a new version, many sources point to that. Unlikey there's gona be tabbed browsing also. You guys should read M$ blog carefully before jumping for joy and declaring IE vs FF vs OP etc..
