Internet Explorer 7

I.E. rules. I only use those other third rate browsers to check web pages in.

If they are thrid rate I'd hate to think what IE is.

Why do you all continue to ignore Maxthon, Avant, and SlimBrowser?

Because they're not browsers, just skins/extentions for major engines, whatever word you prefer. :ninja:

update:

The first beta of IE 7.0 isn't expected for a few more months. But information on Microsoft's security, standards and interface plans are trickling out now. Since it first revealed a month ago that it was pulling a U-turn by releasing a new version of Internet Explorer independent of Longhorn, Microsoft has been unwilling to share many particulars about its forthcoming browser. Will Internet Explorer (IE) 7.0 have tabs? Will it comply with the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) 2.0 standard? Exactly how will it make browsing more secure? Will it ship in 2005?

As a computer tech, IE7 won't be anything special as long as it has ActiveX. If it has ActiveX you can expect the same security problems as with everyother version of IE. ActiveX is a catalyst for all of IE's problems. Windows Update needs ActiveX. Here is my proposal to Microsoft. Have a Windows Update program seperate from the browser itself. Much like your anti-virus or other similar programs are. This way you can limit the use of ActiveX and make browsing with IE as secure as with Firefox or Opera. If Microsoft changes IE in this way, websites that rely on ActiveX will adjust their sites to be compatable with IE7. Just a thought.

My IE asks before it installs active x. So if it causes problems it's my fault not Microsoft.

i been on the old FF for a while now - and still never used tabs,

what's the big deal about 'em, why so many people hot for 'em???

so you only have one easy to navigate window in your taskbar, instead of 7 or 15 or whatever. just keeps things cleaner and easier

i find it easier to navigate...if there is 1 page with 5 links i want to visit it saves me the time of going to 1st link, going back to the main page, going to the 2nd link, going back to the main page, going to the 3rd...etc

And as mentioned, it keeps things cleaner when you don't have 15 windows cluttering your taskbar (even if they are grouped)... it's just a matter of preference.

I think I will switch when IE 7 comes out. Firefox consumes a lot of memory and I'm sure IE will be a lot faster and slimmer.

IE is a resourcehog becos it is loaded with the os, it is intergrated with explorer.

I would try it but I can't.

But i think it will be Iinternet Explorer 6 Service pack 3 with some bells and whistles
