xEonBuRn
whoa, I think you guys make drastic overgeneralizations.... pho sho... I bought a dell so I don't have to worry about hardware failures and connections problems... mostly because that's ALL I do for my friend's who have "built their own" and yet, they still can't troubleshoot anything. So stop the flaming because it doesn't go for all people. BTW - on the proprietary software statement... ur not buying it extra for a hefty price... and the OS isn't any different other than they add software to it so that it can only be installed on computers with "Dell" BIOSES... I got the corp version of XP Pro anyway that I stuck on their cuz I didn't like ME. As for the DELLNET... what idiot would use that anyway.... and who the hell are you anyway. ur an MSN tech for god sake... go someplace else that you might be wanted. As for proprietary hardware, you are kinda misconstruing the word... Dell doesn't include the sound and the video on the motherboard (that is proprietary)... it is separate. AMD's i heard you can unlock the multiplier...However OC'ing the FSB is the easiest way. and with the commercials you jus dont have the option...OH and stay away from the Windows based overclockers..they are very unstable. Qba73
Dell's and all the other commercials are great pc's (well except for the celerons, never liked those stripped down pentiums) i have a dell at work and its great. Being that these comps are for the masses, they dont include OC options which is safe to say is a good idea, being that a majority of PC buyers are most of the time novices...
