Ok, my entertainment center can only fit a tv that is approx 32w x 28h...

so, I was browsing around and found a few at bestbuy, which of these four would be my best bang for my buck?

now, the first one listed has a flat tube, is there much difference in picture between that one and the others?

also, if anyone knows any others please feel free to mention them!

either 1 or 2. if you wanna save a few bucks go with 2. im not too sure about the quality of the Sansui tv. i would stick to name brands. be sure to get the best buy warranty too.

1) great price for a flat screen. colors not as vibrant as on other sets

2) Ugly exterior casing, but good picture with decent sound

3) Poor picture, poor sound, don't get

4) Suprisingly, a pretty decent set although some have been unreliable

I work at Best Buy in the Home Theater section.

The warranty is a bit expensive ($100), so only get it if he can afford it. I think it's worth it given the rather crappy production quality of sets these days, but he may be on a budget.

dont care about the sound too much, since I wont be using the speakers on the TV.

I'm leaning towards #2, POSSIBLY #1.

If you are going to spend $400 then why not spend $50 or $100 more and get a brand like Sony, Toshiba or Panasonic? Something a little more reputable. Just wondering.

Toshiba is included in his links. Also, he mentions size as a concern. Sony's are ginormous.

It's a decent TV, although I have seen better from Toshiba.

:pinch: Oops. It pays to read first before reacting. I have had a 27" Toshiba for about 6 years now and it has been great. I like the 32" Toshibas but I prefer the flat tubes. Toshiba gets my vote.

Hope it works out for you. I would hate to think that something I recommend turns out to be unsavory. Have you been to the store to check it out?
