0 darkhooda
An important not about FlashGet is that it contains Cydoor spyware. Good alternatives are Download Express (very light UI) and Leechget, which is quite like Flashget but no spyware. They both use ten simultaneous connections instead of five that Flashget uses. Also Leechget provides plugins for Mozilla. See this page for information on some other download managers. Also, I have heard that FlashGet could work after you've removed Cydoor, but that is not confirmed, and still doesn't make it better necessarily. Other spyware infected ones include netants and download accelerator. And yes, Leechget does have Mozilla & Firefox & Opera extension! 0 TGT
I've been using FlashGet ever since I first had dial-up, and even now i use it with my broadband connection. I have never had a problem with spyware with that application. However, i did find that people using Microsoft[Giant]Anti-spyware, Flasget would get redflaged. In my opinion, its a false positive. In the shareware version you do get ads, but they are isolated to the program alone and nowhere else on the operation system. It's a real solid Download manager and I trust it - worth the $.
