Gary King
For my .avi files, when I try opening the program and I get the dialog to choose which program to open with, I select my desired program (WMP) and checkmark "Always use this program" but it never works. *.avi files always ask me which program I want to open with. I am unsure if it does this with other file extensions or not. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! :) :D

tch1005
It probably does work, but there may be another program that keeps setting it to open with it instead. I suggest checking the settings of the "default" program to make sure this isn't the case...
Gary King
There are no programs associated w/.avi Also, going to 'File Types' -> is basically the same thing that happens; selecting the program doesn't select it. It just stays as not-associated.

hellosky
Why don't you set the file types in WMP options?
