He had a long bout with cancer. Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr was born October 2, 1937 at Charity Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended UCLA, and received his law degree from Loyola Marymount University. Johnnie Cochran, Jr. began his legal career in Los Angeles as a Deputy Attorney for the city's criminal division. Cochran worked his way through the ranks to accept a position as Assistant District Attorney for Los Angeles County. He defended someone for free, taking 10 year to defend his case, knowing he was innocent. That in itself, makes me proud to see he's a lawyer. As for the O.J. case he was doing his job. Even the guy defending Charles Manson or Tim McVeigh had to try and prove their clients innocent or have the charges lessened. That's their job.
