Famed Attorney Johhnie Cochran Dies

Lawyer Johnnie Cochran, who famously defended actor O.J. Simpson, has died aged 67 at his home in Los Angeles, California.

He had a long bout with cancer.

Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr was born October 2, 1937 at Charity Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended UCLA, and received his law degree from Loyola Marymount University.

Johnnie Cochran, Jr. began his legal career in Los Angeles as a Deputy Attorney for the city's criminal division. Cochran worked his way through the ranks to accept a position as Assistant District Attorney for Los Angeles County.

In his long carreer he fought for women's and civil rights for all.

RIP. Wow! I'm shocked. There aren't many "neurological" conditions you could die from this quickly.

He defended someone for free, taking 10 year to defend his case, knowing he was innocent. That in itself, makes me proud to see he's a lawyer. As for the O.J. case he was doing his job. Even the guy defending Charles Manson or Tim McVeigh had to try and prove their clients innocent or have the charges lessened. That's their job.

I wouldn't care if he defended 100 murderers that were guilty yet got off...thats his job.

67 is pretty old for a black man to live to isn't it?

I think Marsha Clark deserves to go to hell a lot more than Johnny does, Marsha had a clear cut murder conviction and totally screwed it up and lost the case of the century....
