Daninku
I thin IE is not a bad browser. It's more FF and Opera fans which are making it look that bad. I used FF, I used Opera I use Maxthon (IE). Personally, all the browsers have their ups and downs. Maybe FF memory, maybe Opera something else, and maybe IE security. Infact that;s why I use Maxthon. Anyways, depends on the user's likings :) They are all good browsers. But I use Maxthon, because (look at my PC) it's crap and if I had to use Firefox it would run slow and a 128MB of RAM

ctomer
My opinion, as a web developer, is that IE stinks.
E t h a n
IE is 100% perfect for Windows Update and Office Update! I would never use any other browser than IE for those two sites. Otherwise, out of concern for my computer's (and my) safety, I use FF. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I do feel much safer with FF.
guyfromabove
IE IS 100% bull****, you get more spyware and viruses from it even with the virus thingys. It is RUBBISH!
kaffra
i use them both, mainly ie. i dont like firefox because i dont have time to find the billions of extensions.sometimes it causes lots of mem usage for just a browser. I prefer opera in this aspect, but its not free.

It is RUBBISH! 585708476 I use IE / Maxthon and never got a virus. Maybe you visit lots of pr0n or war....ezzz!! Maybe not, but if you know what you're doing you're fine, although yes I agree is more secure.

em_te
Integration wise IE is good. I like having the address bar in my taskbar so I can launch any URL immediately. I also use it in the form of Active Desktop since I keep my calendaring and scheduling website open on the desktop at all times. Otherwise with normal Internet browsing I use Firefox. Mx
Bored kids at home+ internet = stupid neowin posts. 585711179 Well summed up. I think IE is fine, its my main web browser. I've never got a virus or some nasty bit of spyware. Why? I stay secure, browse with sense, run a firewall, antivirus, I'm fine.

chavo
IE and Firefox are both awful. IE has a solid interface but a crappy engine. Firefox has a solid engine but a crappy interface. Thank God for KDE and Konqueror.

+M2Ys4U Subscriber¹ Posted April 1, 2005 Subscriber¹ Share Posted April 1, 2005 It has it's merits, but I think it's time for it to move aside and let the web move forward in terms of technologies like (X)HTML and CSS, rather than stay predominantly stuck where it is. For example, 39% is pretty bad: http://nanobox.chipx86.com/browser_support.php
