Help Posted April 7, 2005 Share Posted April 7, 2005 It's rare that you'll see horrible performance on a Nix box. Even a p3 450mhz Nix box performs better than your typical Wal-Mart E-Machines running at 2.5ghz. I do see a slight performance incease while running linux, but that's an overstatement. oh, btw, I thought wal-mart sold PCs that has linux pre-installed? g-n-t Posted April 7, 2005 Share Posted April 7, 2005 they have some lindows ones, not emachines though. and speed depends on the distro. i like yoper cause it really is MUCH faster than windows and still has KDE and all the features and eyecandy.
