Shycho
For the past week whenever i've tried to log on to MSN Messenger i keep getting this message. "Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to the MSN Messenger at this time. Please try again later. 80072efd" This is starting to annoy me, i can still log on to my space, and my hotmail account its just stupid i accept they screw up for a day or so, but this is only effecting mine, i can log on using my windows account but not my own. I've tried re-installing MSN but it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas what it is? thanks for your help
Psyph3rium
I've had this problem too. MSN's servers have stopped letting you use specific things/ways of signing in. I used to sign in through a socks proxy server on my {dial-up} internet computer, using socksCap to run msn through, but they wont let you, do, whatever it is that you need to do to be able to do that anymore. Anybody else with a more detailed explaination? I've been pretty much stuffed and have had to switch to using yahoo... although today everybody I know wh has been using yahoo have been randomly signed on and off again, including me. So, yeah. bad. Yes, I've tried turning off my software and hardware firewalls {on my wireless router}, and that doesn't do anything, before anyone suggests that. Oh, and i'm signing in to msn with a gmail account linked to a passport, if that's relevant, But I've tried a warpmail account linked to a passport and a hotmail account too, they don't work either. LispyGlitter2
Servers have been having high traffic rates due to Messenger 7 going live. Just be patient. Try also deleating your cookie cache.
Psyph3rium
I've cleaned my cookies in firefox and even in ie, even though I can't see what that would do to fix anything... Proxy settings are perfect in both apps, and in socksCap. other apps work through it. The old msn doesn't do it, miranda wont do it, gaim wont do it, each one I've tried with and without socksCap, when without I've changed the proxy settings in the app. nothing. Which makes me think it's a socks compatibility problem on their end. hence the server thing i reffered to.
Shycho
I've been having this problem since before MSN 7 was released(with beta versions), i've managed to get 6.2 working but MSN 7 just won't work for me, and i haven't changed any of my settings, i went on to msn and it said to go to connections and then click on run trouble shoot or something like that but it couldn't connect. Psyph3rium
Are you going through a proxy or router or firewall? Because I think one of those is the problem, because it works for me if I just go on the dodgy computer thats directly connected.

Psyph3rium
Did emptying the recycle bin solve your problem? 585745785[/snapback] I can't tell if you're taking the p1$$ or not... I mean, maybe if there was some malicious program/virus sitting in the recycle bin, I don't know why it would just want to not let me sign into msn... Shycho
I've managed to get my MSN working again, mine was the only one that wasn't working and MSN couldn't even connect to test it, so i decided to check my brother sock version and http proxy to see what ports they were using, and the http proxy port didn't match so i've changed mine to match his and now its working.
