lx qu33n
i've had an audigy for about 6 months now and it works great. i use winamp (the only mp3 player ;) ) i dont have it skip, but my friend has his skip sometimes because of his hd, his is ata33 still, mine doesnt and i have ata100. but i dont think that is the real reason, i think his RAM is fried. that might be problem, dunno. could just be the bitrate on the mp3s u are playing =) dunno
vassie
It does'nt happen alot, but when it does it's very annoying!
Fonze
wow lx qu33n that Avatar....... not really necesary now is it it could be winamp, the worst mp3 player ever ;) :D i like WMP but that has nothing to do with the audigy. try installing the newest drivers and hope for the best
daliam
I had a similar problem when using WinAmp before. I used Windows Media Player (god help me) and it worked fine. When i got more RAM the problems disappeared. HTH Liam

username
how much disk activity do you have when playing MP3s, also, how about the rest of your system, CPU, RAM, a lot of other stuff running?
AndyD
i have --- P3 800, 512 RAM, and yeah im doing a bunch of stuff while listening but i dont think i have to close down everything just to listen to mp3s. i never had to in the first place. the only thing i thought of is that the main drive is 5400rpm but i forget that the mp3s are playing off a faster archive drive. so i dont think thats it either. liar2
i say that you should try the alternative player. yes, there is an alternative to winamp, and no, it isn't WMP. Coolplayer is probably the best, if you ask me. ;)
Chris123NT
Yeah i had this problem only with the drivers that came on the CD. Installed the latest update off their website and no more skipping :)
Wolvereen
My recomendation... Load up perfmon and have it monitor disc read/writes as well as RAM read/writes and Virtual Memory read/writes. Chances are when one of these skipping attacks happens, you will see it on perfmon. My bet is on HDD read/write issues... just my 2 cents...
