xxdesmus
AFAIK ...no current generation browser passes the Acid2 test fully... Again, AFAIK Firefox does perform the best currently...IE 7.0 was supposed to be capable of passing this, but that seems to be a lost cause...since CSS 2.1 (and 3.0) are still very new most current browsers support for them is spotty at best. supernova_00
all browsers fail the test, even the W3C's browser fails it. The test is not completly correct anyways, and uses some code that is in the not standard CSS2.1 and CSS3. Here is a tracking bug for it and all of actually mozilla bugs have been filed for months/years before this test came out. Bug# 289480 Make sure you check out the dependencies also. (do no bugspam the bug(s))

supernova_00
And like I said the other day that the test had errors in it....The test has been updated to fix the errors. http://webstandards.org./act/acid2/test.html#top yes it does look a little worse now in firefox but check it out in IE, thats just horrible. btw at least one of the bugs has been fixed with the trunk something about the nose and the bottom moving down when hovering over the nose. arrrgh
Safari is now the first browser that passes the test, thanks to the 11 patches of Dave Hyatt http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/hyatt/archi..._04.html#008042
supernova_00
Congrats to Safari. Once 1.1 is out, work will be done so that Fierfox passes it. It's just too late in the development to be mucking around with css errors that aren't common use.
generalnewbie
who cares..? really is this just pointless? or am i just not seeing the big picture?
theyarecomingforyou
who cares..? really is this just pointless? or am i just not seeing the big picture? 585842852[/snapback] The point is that these standards are the future for web design and this test checks browsers compatability - it is very important. supernova_00
and so is firefox but firefox won't pass that test until after 1.1 is released. too much other stuff to worry about then a smiley face. don't get me wrong, its important to abide by the standards its just its too late in the development cycle to fix these issues that cause firefox to not pass that test.
