syntax01010
I'm looking for assistance with a few things for IE, and i'm curious if anyone would be willing to post some useful info or links to info that would help in this. There are a handful of features that are either missing or difficult to find/setup for IE, so any help here would be much appreciated. 1. Any way using standard IE, or using one of the top add-on browsers like Avant, Slim Browser, or Maxthon - to make IE use tabs that open with the same type of style and layout that is used in Firefox? Example: Have "x" to close tab on each tab itself and not in some obscure place on the toolbar? 2. Any way to make IE use the url of saved favorites for address auto-complete but not use any other addresses for auto-complete? 3. Any way to easily backup IE completely? Meaning a complete backup of all favorites, but also trusted/blocked sites in security zones, custom settings for always allow/always block cookies and/or pop-ups, advanced settings under advance tab in internet tools, etc? 4. Any way to force IE to remember site login information? Example: Make IE remember login information for Yahoo! mail, groups, profiles, My Yahoo!, etc and make IE auto login to those services when you browse to the site? I know can make IE save passwords and form data, but that still requires clicking and typing to make IE log in to Yahoo and various other sites. I am meaning a easy, seamless way to make IE not only remember log in info, but also auto-fill the log in boxes AND log into the site without any needed user interaction. 5. Any way to be able to auto enter a site you are currently browsing as a trusted site and/or to always allow cookies/pop-ups from the site you are currently viewing? 6. Any way to easily customize the right-click menu? Example: Make IE allow use right-click menu on pages that block the feature, or change right-click menu so useful features like "select all" or "open in new window" etc are always there? 7. Any way to make IE use web based E-mail as default for composing new mail and/or clicking on E-mail links in web sites? Example: Yahoo!, Hotmail, Gmail, etc. This also being part of the above request for info on always log in info, so you don't have to log in each time you click a link to E-mail someone in a web site. 8. And finally, any way to make IE block banner ads, floating ads, pop-under ads, etc. but to fill the ad location in the page with something of your choosing....so no more ugly boxes all over web pages with broken link red x's all over them? Coreguy
i think if so many function is needed, your best choice is Maxthon,Firefox,Opera etc Ie has some power-enhanced add-ons such as popup blocker,Tab-browser,but it's far less than firefox's extension,Maxthon's feature...
