Rushnak
Recently I switched to Opera from Firefox, I thought Firefox was really good. I didn't think I'd ever change. But after giving Opera a fair go, I've started to like it. So now It's become my default browser. Who knows I might go back to Firefox, I might stay with Opera. Anyway I was just interested of the amount of people who have done the same thing I have.

y0sh
ALMOST! Dude, almost. I just used it, and almost got sucked into using it full-time. I dont know, I guess I genuinely like using firefox. (less visual clutter).
matt11601
I'm still on the fence. Opera 8 is pretty damn good, but I've been using Firefox for so long now. Opera renders pages quicker for me, but not all pages are displayed correctly which is annoying at times because rendering pages is so basic. But, I love Opera's voice navigation and use it all the time. It evens works with my cheap $10 Labtec headset. This thread is not lame. -Matt
Gelob
NoLame thread. 585820732 Why? Thats right no reason for it being a lame thread so shhh! I am in the processing of switching. I found a program that will convert bookmarks from various browsers so i did that. Im now just getting used to opera and adding all my cookies before i uninstall firefox

I feel exactly the same about Firefox and Opera, i'm currently a Firefox user and been for quite some time but tbh im considering switching to Opera, mostly due to memory issues with FF, speed issues and frequent profile corruption issues and lame themeing issues, also unlike Firefox Opera has an awesome download manager which eliminates the need for 3rd party software. so i'm still comparing the two we'll se how it goes

qkslvr221
NoLame thread. 585820732 Lame troll. Go back under your bridge. I switched from firefox to opera simply because it works better for me. Everyones machine is hardly the same, making it impossible for there to be "one fastest browser". Opera just happened to run faster on my machine, and I have gotten quite used to it.

drbobiii
The only things I miss about Firefox are the smoothwheel and adblock extensions, both of which I can live without for the sake of an otherwise better browser.

BGraceTFaith
I did the Firefox thing, became a fanboy, did the Opera thing, became a fanboy, then went back to Firefox when TBE got better, became a fanboy, then got sick of the mucked up way Firefox handles "solicited resized popups" and went back to Opera. I even took a few nights searching out tweaks to get Firefox set up the way I wanted it to look. Opera still won out in the end on that one too. Opera 8 is wowing me, however, as fast as Opera is, bangbang023's modded version of Firefox is blazing fast. Now, if Firefox can get their solicited resized popups to work in an acceptable fashion, I'll probably switch back. Im not too hard to please. Now, with IE7 being just over the horizon, I'm quite interested to see what it's going to bring to the table. If they are able to implement tabbed browsing with the same type of "Multiple Document Interfact" that Opera uses as well as a proper handling of solicited resized popups and UI customization, then I'll probably switch back to IE, but the chances of all of those features coinciding in one new version of IE are slim to none, so I doubt I'll switch. I know someone is going to comment on this in some fashion, so just for clarification, I'm not stating whether one is better than the other. If asked to make that decision, I think my brain would short out. They all have their advantages and disadvantages, and I change to whichever one caters to my needs at the time.
