Syphonic
I switched backed to IE/Maxthon from Firefox. Security was a concern. Surely that was a switch in the wrong direction?
CrisCr0ss
when i first learned of Firefox and other browsers i didnt like it. So i stuck with Avant until about version 8 or so..then Firefox found me in 1.0, been using it since. However, when Opera 8 came out i did give it a try a whole 2 months, i liked how it loaded fast and everything, but i found it very diffucult to customize. The advertisement, to allow specific popups and various other things, tab switching and use of hotkeys (not easy to change) All that can be fixed in FireFox through the use of Extensions, What makes it easy is that it is customizable i got mine to be like Opera and Like Avant at the same time, Also a little handy tool named FireFox Preloader makes the startup a hell of a lot faster, all it does is load FireFox at startup so when u click it its already preloaded in Memory and starts up faster than Opera. I like the way i have Firefox setup and no matter how many people may spam/ call me a fanboy or a follower its just a browser i've grown accustomed to and have the way i like. Different People, Different Choices, Different Browser. Not everyone can be like you, plus if it wasn't for Firefox would Opera be as good as it is? If it wasn't for Opera will Firefox be as good as it is? If it wasn't for (insert software/hardware here) will (insert other software/hardware here) be as good as it is? Compettion increases productivity and advances technology. Without you would all be using IE.
Ryne
I didn't like that FF preloader. I remember when I was arguing for FF and people said IE loaded faster, I used to say it was because it's loaded at startup. FF preloader is doing the same thing, so its not really faster, just loading it when your computer starts. Plus my computer sucks and I need all the memory I can get :p. I respect your decision, and the way you said it. Much better than most people come and argue about things.
Syphonic
Managed to get FireFox working again so i've switched back from Opera, ohh how I missed it!
Bhav
Surely that was a switch in the wrong direction? 586002142[/snapback] that' what i was thinking. granted recently there have been a few updates for firefox, but it's definitely more secure than using IE. wildk
Cant switch from somthing i tried and hated and decided against, Have used opera all along, and IE, Never had any problems. I just didn't like the look n feel of firefox, nor having to dig through pages of useless extensions to find one that might do what i wanted. Opera worked out of the box and did everything i needed and wanted it to do.
iNF3CT3D
Opera all the Way Man!!!! Firefox is just an Open source copy of all the great features Opera introduced such as Tabbed Browsing and Password Manager. Firefox is just Over-rated.
nickg78
Opera is indeed a great browser, but I think Firefox is much better and always free.

vcv
... Opera 8 ... and use of hotkeys (not easy to change) Really.. Preferences > Advanced > Shortcuts "Edit..." under Keyboard shortcuts. Doesn't get much easier than that. Unlike Firefox, which you need an extension to even customize the keyboard shortcuts (through the GUI) and even then its VERY limited. devyant
I'm caught in the between, using Opera and Firefox (usually when Opera fails to load a site correctly :()
Jack_0Neill
I find Firefox to be the best browser out there. Opera has ads, and the others are IE based/core.
iwod
I think firefox 1.1 has some true potential. It render a lot faster than 1.0, and in some cases faster than opera 8. I switched from firefox 1.0 to opera 8. And when Firefox 1.1 i may switch back.

Daylene
Nope, Firefox user here. I did try opera but found it way too bloated for my tastes. Although it was a pretty cool browser I admit.

AlexMagik
i used both, but opera still don't have a valid working adblock like ff.. what i like of opera is the speed of startup and rendering, the only problem is when i open 10 tabs in one shot, it takes 100% CPU and get more slow than firefox. so i keep using FF 1.0.
