Destian
I use allmusic.com quite a bit and would like to add it to my list of quicksearch bookmarks in Fx. I can't figure out how to do it though. Searching always just takes me to http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll so there doesn't seem to be anything to replace with %s. If anyone has figured this out I would really appreciate some help. Thank you.
ign.des
Right click the search box, choose Add keyword for this search.
Destian
Right click the search box, choose Add keyword for this search. 585826974 I wasn't aware of that feature. It definately simplifies things. Thank you. It does work, but oddly enough the location is exactly the same as the one I cut and pasted before... which did not work. Identical bookmarks, different results. It's not a big deal, as it works as I want it to, but if anyone can explain what's going on I would appreciate it. :) Just curious. Thank you. 585828882 Out of curiosity, was it because the wording of the menu ("Add a Keyword for this Search") was confusing? I think this information would be useful for Firefox developers. If so, is there a better way of wording it? It's not a big deal, as it works as I want it to, but if anyone can explain what's going on I would appreciate it. :) Just curious. 585828882 The name, URL and keyword for both bookmarks are the same but there is also some metadata stored with the bookmark that records the name and value of the textboxes. You don't see that metadata in the Bookmark Manager but if you open the file "bookmarks.html" in a text editor, you can see it. There is a difference there, because the way the form data is submitted is also different in each cases ("GET" vs. "POST").

I had just always used the "old" method of replacing the search terms in the address with %s. This obviously didn't work with allmusic.com because the address does not show the search terms as most sites do (dictionary.com/neowin/imdb/etc). Simply right clicking is obviously a little bit easier than the way I was doing it. As I mentioned above, allmusic is the only site that required me to use that method, so in my bookmarks.html file it is the only QuickSearch with "Post_Data" in the tag. Thank you for the explanation. I hate not knowing how things work.
