FireFox clear all my bookmarks

Recommended Posts

Well, it's doing me that error about 5 times now...

My actual Firefox:

(Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050416 Firefox/1.0+)

But done this also with the 1.0.3 if I remember well.

It just clear all cookies, bookmarks and extantions settings (like Adblock)...

The bookmark.htm and the backup still there and have all my bookmarks inside.

But when I try to import it it's overwriten to nothing...

This append when the Windows crash or when the computer is reseted or powerdown without close Windows. But not at all times... ust randomly.

My friend computer don't do that and we have the same FireFox.

Why it do this???

I lost all new bookmark that I can't remember what they are...

And this make me MAD

I know sometimes when firefox is crashed in the background, and the i try to open firefox it asks me which profile to use, because the original one is in use... so perhaps you are in another profile.. and the old stuff is still there

Try going to ...

C:\Documents and Settings\"you username"\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

And see how many profiles there are there... look for bookmarks.html in case you are trying to recover only those..

No it's not this... and as said I know where the profile is... the prob is that FF delete all settings and stay in the SAME profile...

I don't know what causes it, but i got ****ed off after the 5th time or so. It has happened in virtually every version i used. I just got fed up and changed to Opera.

Mabey you should use that firefox backup program and keep a back up just in case?
