BGraceTFaith
For some reason, my Opera 8 (Final) is not showing Neowin's smilies. All I get are the :blahblahblah: in the place a smilie should be. Anyone else having this problem?

You can cycle through image handling in Opera by hitting Shift-I in Opera 8. There are 3 different image modes in Opera: 1) Show images 2) Show cached images only 3) Show no images You can also change that setting on the View Bar. Chode
I can assure you it is now a problem with Opera. Opera has been my principle browser since version 7.2 or so, and I have never seen this problem. Either your images are off, you've changed a setting in Neowin itself (I'm sure it's a board option somewhere), or you're not logged in. Edit: CLICK HERE (Board Settings under you're control panel), and make sure that "Do you wish to view images in posts, such as smilies and posted images?" is set to YES. vcv
Just to reiterate, it is definately not an Opera problem. It is the job of the forum software to convert the :text: to <img src="...">, and there is NO way for Opera to request otherwise unless you change something in your forum settings page, or the forum did browser detection and did it purposefully (not going to happen).
