gahbmwM5
Hi, After just completing a reformat of my WinXP SP2 laptop, I finally have my system back to what I 'thought' was working order...Everytime that I go to the Macromedia site to install Flash7 Player, it installs fine after the IE6 SP2 'Blocked Popup Warning' to install the ActiveX... I test the Flash 7 Player on the Macromedia site, and all is fine...Until I delete the TIFs' and immediately see a small screen on the left hand side of my LCD very quickly show it 'status bar'-green movement-Luna VS, that it is deleting something...? I then go into \system32\macromed--->and see that the 'flash.ocx' has been deleted? It also happens in the IE6 SP2--->Tools--->Internet Options--->Settings--->View Objects... Then I go back to the Macromedia site, and low and behold...Flash 7 Player is again needed! I have been playing with this weird crap for 3 hrs now, and have set all my Security Settings in IE6 to lowest possible...Same dam thing! I have run KAV 5 Personal, MS Anti-Spyware, Spybot 1.4RC3...and nothing is produced.. Also am getting a pop-up from IE6, when on Macromedia---->sometimes trying to install Flash7, and on Yahoo! Mail (that just went to 1GB for me): Internet Explorer-Security Warning---->PopUp Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publishers: Name: ocget.dll Now, I have Googled this, and am wits end, as I really don't want to do another painstaking 'reformat' of XP again... Please help....

gahbmwM5
Hi coreguy, Thanks for the link, but unfortunately after closing (of course) both IE6 and FF 1.0.4 and running the Installer, it was fine in IE6 SP2, again...until deleting my TIF, and this time I could definately see it run it's small popup deleting 'flash.ocx'... Checking in /system32/macromed--->flash.ocx was still there, but not in any IE Internet File Settings..ie: Managed Add-Ons...it was there, but NOT after deleting TIF... I'm at a total lost, and will probably have to do another reformat.....btw: it was the same version: 7.0.19.0 as I had. Any other suggestions would be very welcomed before I do another reformat, as I mainly use IE6 SP2 for WindowsUpdates, and use FF for my 'main browser' but completely distain the fact that something is wrong, and after a reformat (complete) which took me 2 days to get all my custom settings, files back
gahbmwM5
Hey-Hey...Coreguy, you got me on 'the right track'...:) Finally solved it! Here is a pic of Flash 7 Full Installer.exe for IE6: flashplayer 7_winax.exe As you can see the difference between this .exe was that it has a 'Digital Signature' at top.. Both your .exe (that you kindly provided) and this one were as follows: File Version: 6.0.2800.1106 (xpsp1.020828-1920) Now here is a pic of yours: flash_player_7020_ax.exe Finally after installing the 'flashplayer 7_winax.exe'...then deleting all TIFs from IE6, the dam flash.ocx remained! Went into Internet Properties--->Programs--->Manage Add-ons--->flash.ocx! :)
iron2000
Clearing TIF always removes the Flash plugin for me. So is this the way to make it stay?
