Latest Stable Build

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what the latest stable build of Firefox is, I heard its having some problems with extension, theme and memory leaks. I'm stil using 1.0.2 final, but it just doesnt feel smooth as the 1.0 release. I just wonder whether i should update to the lastest 1.0.3 or not.

I've upgraded from 1.0 to 1.02 to 1.03 with no problems. You can try MozBackup to make a backup of your settings, extensions, and basically anything else you'd ever want or need to backup. Afterwards, upgrade to 1.03 and see if you have any problems. If you do, uninstall 1.03, delete your profile, reinstall 1.02 and restore your profile from your backup.

Hope that helps.

yeah 4/21 is the last really stable one. Today's nightly worked with extensions ok, but failed to recognize any plugins (flash, java, etc).

Great, I was wondering this myself... Adblock is essential, and it keeps getting disabled in newer trunk builds.

I have trouble with the Options panel on this build, does not show and causes crash.

you're not using a 1.1 compliant theme.

Some have this problem while others don't. I've been lucky and never had this happen. I have a feelings its something to do with another extension and the process of upgrading to a newer nightly. Just a guess on my part tho.

i am using the 1.0.4 aviry (sp?) version. some of my extensions stopped working under 1.03 and still dont work properly under 1.0.4. so its def. extensionrelated.

Ah yes, bangbang is correct of course.

No good just bumping-up the numbers in the install.rdf, the theme has to be rebuilt from the ground up.

The only theme, apart from Default, I can find to do the job is the newest Firefox Modern, by Andrew D. Keyser, available on Moz Update.

Playing around with the very latest Trunk builds I noticed some changes.

Cache now resides in AppData\Local Settings and Tabs are drag-and -drop reorderable by default. But not for everyday use just yet.

And also has a nasty scroll bug. Yikes. I would wait till it's fixed for sure. btw, it's still present in todays build.

Yes, there's a bug where the page will scroll to the top of the page each time a new page element loads. Slow ad loading on Neowin becomes a bigger bitch with this.

iunno ive been usig 1.03 and all seems well fairly stable.

I just wish they fixed the Mem usage and the load time..

to fix the load time, use an optimized build that is compatible with your processor.

So you guys know, that scrolling issue should be fixed soon. The patch was put up for review. It was literally one incorrect letter in the code that screwed things up.

Besides the fact that most themes dont work with the latest builds, today's build is pretty solid.

edit: actually, today's build is a bit funky. Yesterday's build was good, though.
