you know what was really cool that ms took out for some reason i think it was build 2481 or something like that but the logon screen had a animated windows logo it was pretty damn cool and if we can still get animated stuff on the logon screen i think people can make some pretty cool custom logon screens

I wouldn't try removing the bottom panel. The top one it fine to remove, but when I got rid of the bottom one, the Welcome screen didn't work any longer. Had to restart and restore the original logon screen.

Just a thought...

For those who want the thin bitmaps to go away could you not give them an alpha value and drop it to zero? That would leave them in place but make them totally invisible.

HEHE....

you installed a Bad LoginUI...

When XP doesn't recognize the File or there is an error in the XML.. it will default to the Win2000 style LogonScreen

do you know what version number of XP you have ??

PixelCloud,

Delete the logonui.exe in the sys32 folder while NOT in safe mode. XP should replace it with the original right then.

go into Windows...

and delete the loginUI.exe

if you have the XP Install CD.. it will restore it from there...

you don't need to be in safe mode to do this...
