Ok, this screen is almost done, but im wondering, does anyone know how to keep the alpha blending on once you move the arrow beyond where the center divider should be to the left and how to keep on turned on when you go into the black, once i have this part figured out, this thing should be done

hey, IDMantis, i think that has to do with a setting in the system thingy, like shown in the screen shot, i dont know how you would fix it, but thats the setting, does the flash look like a blue screen of death?? cause it just may be your computer displays it so fast, then restarts

I was trying to customize my windowsXP Login screen in the loginui.exe file. So i made a copy of the file and put it on my desktop, edited it to my liking, then i rebooted so i could replace the origional loginui.exe with the new one. So on reboot i forget which button is safemode so i just start hitting all of them. F8 , F9, F10, F11, F12 constantly until something comes up... Then i get a weird black window, not your normal safemode, normal mode, selection, it has several paragraphs up top saying "we apologize for the inconvenience, windows did not start correctly..." them im sitting there like, No ****... so then i select reboot from last know good settings, and it goes to load XP as it normally would, then right before it goes to the desktop i get the blue error that Flashes real fast! So fast i cant even read it! Then the pc reboots on its own... So then i try safemode....same thing... then i try normal mode again, same dice.... Any Ideas wTF is wrong? Is it because i have a loginUI.exe on my desktop? Please help! Im Desperate, Thanks!

You will get the page with those several paragraphs when your machine didn't boot up suceessfully.

There must be something wrong with the logonui.exe that prevents your machine from booting up.

You may want to try choosing Safe Mode Command Mode to recover the original logonui.exe back to system32 folder.

i have 2 domains (sponge9.com and azzurroarancione.com) both with a few hundred MB each and hosted for 2 years if anyone would like to use them to host new themes(meaning both login screens and new themes that we create)..preferably the sponge9.com one because it is small and easy to remember

keep up the good work guys! (and gals!)

Too late :( i just reformatted, and the problem seemed to go away... Heh, i think im gonna have to reformat again, because when i first get the XP loading screen, its real dark, like my monitor settings are off, but it comes in full color 3 seconds later... i tried safemode with command prompt... Nothing would load... Blue screen of death every time. Where is that window where i can uncheck automatically restart?

you have to go into your control panel, and open up the system dialog window, then hit the advandced tab and hit settings in the startup and recovery section, and then that brings you to that screen shot

oh, and this will just make you be able to read the blue screen of death, and maybe understand the problem

Draaku the picture can be any size...and any colour...if you read the tutorial it shows you where the colours are listed..background..top/bottom bars..divider lines etc..just play around the the RGB settings and replace the picture using ResHacker as described in the tutorial

i messed my boot up a couple of times scared the crap out of me I was worried I was going to have to reformat. durring the boot it would just sit there with an hour glass, but after several trys I finally made it to the desktop did a system restore and tried again :) you really need to be careful when messing with the logonui.exe you can really screw yourself bad.

here is my lame attempt at a new logon screen, and the same screen comes up durring logoff, but the safe mode screen is the blue one. I almost said the clasic blue on :D

I looked at the blackcomb preview video again and the picture you had (road) is not the same as the on in the video. The one you have is awesome too, but do you or anyone know where to get the one in the this picture. SOrry about the quality, print screen doesnt capture the picture in WMP8. Its really weird try it yourself. I had to use my webcam to get a good pic of it... Any info would be helpful!
