[!] Fastest Gecko Engine Browser - K-MeleonCCF ME

Recommended Posts

This version is the fastest gecko engine browser ever from the test and usage.

After deduction of the componenets dll and chromes, it has been reduced to the smallest size but all functions are still there.

I recommend you to use this one, you will like it.

It acts wierd. When you open a new tab, the taskbar flashes just like after you run a new program.

Anyway, it's a fairly nice and light browser with fast loadtime.

Use the nickname function of the bookmarks. You can define any nickname of any web addrees. Like you can define www.google.com as 'g' . And you just type 'g' in address bar, you will go to google.

The lack of adblock and other cool Firefox extensions will limit my web browsing experience, main reason why I won't switch to K-Meleon.

yeah, if it got the same attention, and if it were developed similarly, i'm sure people would love it.

If it were developed similarly and had extension and theme support then it would basically be Firefox.

The only real advantage this browser can claim is that it is small and fast.

Personally, I like it, at time Firefox seems to take up to 80mb of ram on my system and its nice to have a minimal browser to play with.

Thanks coolwulf for posting this, I'm giving it a spin as we speak and who knows I might switch from Firefox, but I doubt it.

Anyway it can't be faster that Opera. :)

Anything is faster than Opera... ;)

I like this. However, can't get a real feel, I'm running it in WINE. Know of a Linux version? I'll have to look, this browser looks promising.

i'm trying it out at work right now.

lots of strange things bugging me. it opened a new window by itself for some reason, i can't load tabs in the background (already set to true in about:config and user.js), and some other things.

but yeah, it's fast.

now if only they made firefox this fast, i'd be set.

Middle click the link or right mouse button drag the link will open the link at backgournd layer.

p.s.

This browser version integrates several ad block functions including,

1. hostperm.1 image block

2. userContent.css ad block . User can set blacklist together with whitelist

3. Ad Clear feature which can kill the floating ads together with banners. This fucntion can be enabled to run automatically when the page loading.

Thank you for trying K-MeleonCCF. Hope you will like the speed and functions.

The file has been updated to 0.02 version.

If you want to use it with the new Google Web Accelerator,

set the proxy as 127.0.0.1:9100

I used to use K-MeleonCCF as my primary browser in Windows lately. Switched to Linux now, i would definately use it if it had a Linux port, running it with WINE isn't as good. :(

Thanks for your efforts coolwulf, K-MeleonCCF is an awesome browser.

you could probably argue until you're blue in the face over who has the 'fastest' rendering engine, who is the biggest resource hog, or who's got the cleanest interface.

But let's face facts. In all honesty, it probably doesn't really make a bit of difference. People are still going to use the browser of their choice. They always have and probably always will. And that's going to be based on what works for them, feature wise. If they need a fast light browser, they'll go with k-meleon. If they need something that uses the IE rendering engine, they'll probably stick with IE.

Notice how i didn't say 'blah, IE sux, why would ANYONE want to use that?!' yeah, that's because i realize that the majority of internet users still fire up IE to do most of their browsing. It doesn't matter what my PERSONAL opinions are about the issue.

anyway, just a rant cuz im sick of hearing all these browser fanboys get all bent on why their browser isnt the only one that's revered as the 'holy grail' of all browsers.

and just for my 2c, there is no browser that i prefer. they all have issues, and it seems to me like these issues are being worked on for most of the promising browsers. but at this point in time, there is no 'perfect' browser.

Dang, no Linux version? Could we please get one, I'm liking this browser so far.  :D

585872398[/snapback]

Yes there is a linux version...it's called Galeon  and surprisingly...Galeon existed before Kmeleon did...sooo...Kmeleon is more of a Windows version of (even more of a Windows "answer" to) Galeon.

At least that's what they "used to" say
