idoia
BBC news Hooded tops, baseball caps and swearing have been outlawed at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent as part of a crackdown on anti-social behaviour. "By clearly setting acceptable standards of behaviour, this code will allow staff and police officers to work together in maintaining the quality of experience for guests." RaccoonSalsa
Banning anti-social behaviour is fine but there not going about it in the best way, they are being abit stereotypical by banning baseball-caps and hooded tops. Wearing those doesnt make you antisocial. Doesnt bother me though. Down with the Chavs  edit: just read the comments I think this is an absolutely brilliant idea. I, for one, find the hooded tops quite intimidating. Well done for standing firm.Valerie Knight, Orpington, Kent She finds hooded tops intimidating?, even if no-one is wearing them? I hate people and i don't get banned in malls here. ;)
ZiGGA
Bit bold banning caps and hoodies, that's like saying ban trainers and socks But I do hate them so I applaud that
Bubbo
Great news, bluewater is full of chavs, especially after the shops have shut and only the restaurants and cinema are open. This will make it a bit more friendly.
dangermoose
well that is just stupid, i wear hoodies and i am not a chav in the slightest, they are far too cool for me. hehe does this mean i will be banned from going? and what is to stop chavs from turning up NOT wearing hoodies, i know they are thick but not that thick surely. You dont get drunk at every opportunity and be disruptive, you dont vandalise anything and everything. Hating people and keeping it to yourself is one thing, acting on it is another. Hypoxiaicon
I think they mean having hoodied tops up with the hoods hiding faces - I agree with that for ID purposes. As for Base Ball Caps... hmmm Not too sure. Probably the same reasons!
lunamonkey
It says that it is banning clothes that obscure the face. So what about a hoodie that is worn, un hooded? That's ok I assume? No one calls them Malls in uk. It's a shopping centre. meh.

asdfvawerafd
this is nothing new, a lot of clubs in my area dont let you in with hoodies or caps on. this is because it helps them hide their faces from security cameras. In reality, what youll find is this shopping centre wont turn you away if youre wearing a hoodie or a cap, its normally if youre hanging about with your cap on and your hood up, which covers most of your head and makes you hard to identify. people from the US may not be able to identify with this, but its quite common for "troublemakers" in the UK to lurk around shopping centres with their caps on and hoods up so the security cameras and other people cannot see their faces. .:YodaGP:.
Yes, i hate chavs. I am a grunger..hear my roar. Thing is..i wear hoodies. Surely this means that they are banning me to? If i had my way, i would just have people at the doors keeping an eye out for potential trouble makers and then kicking them out if they try and come in. Also, it should be 'wearing hoods' not 'wearing hooded tops'.
