dacbo
i am having major problems with my other (main) computer - i have had it for almost a year now and in the last few weeks have a had a major problem. after using the computer for a while, just getting the system up and running after a reformat i had a serious error (BSOD) in windows xp (cant remeber exactly what it said) but i had to restart the computer on restart i get anothe blue screen telling me one of two things either (missing kernel something or UnMountable Boot Volume) which really scared me after doin a combination of CHKDSKs, FIXMBRs and Formats in the windows setup on the windows xp cd i can get windows to install again. but the computer will have one of these errors again usually between a few days of the last one and i will have to go through the same process again of trying to fix the hard drive. do you think the problem is physically with a broken hard disk or am i doing something wrong with it (it is partitioned) (sorry if my explanation is a bit garbled) CHEERS
rekr321
After reinsstall are you getting all the latest windows updates, because I remeber from a while back there was one that had dealt with an issue about "Unmountable Boot ..." error. Otherwise If thingds are getting corrupt (ie, user accounts or any IRQL erroe in BSOD, or NoN paged Fault errors also in BSOD) I would seriously consider checkin my RAM, I had these sorts of problems and it turne out that slot 2 on my motherboard was chewin up my ram, and creating all sorts of corrupt things. Try going here and dl this memtest to check your ram, its an OS independent test. Rekr

Ecander
I had that Unmountable Volume boot error, it was a error with IDE hdd with NTFS there was a fix on windows update for it, never have had that problem since. The funniest thing was they called it's severity moderate, I believe it should have been critical as it corrupted a lot of data on my hdd. Thank the heavens for a CDR-RW drive. Lezend
Ok this is how i got my error. When I install a game. Then after boot it give me the unmounted bootable drive msg. Afterward there no way I could get into my drive. So I reformat and restart fresh. Weird thing because, I reinstall the same game, and its fine. Still going. dacbo
yeh like me except replace game with amazon.com and not being able to reformat my hard drive again! anybody know how to completely wipe my hard drive
daliam
Well, I am almost certain I know wot the problem is - you shop at amazon.com. You really shouldn't do that (unless u have one of they free voucher fingy's). Simply stop going to amazon.com and your problem will be fixed for ever. (if only it was that simply) LOL Liam
