ahodes1
Well I got MBM 5 recently, and my idle temps were 38 case 48 CPU but after 2 minutes of 100% CPU usage the CPU temp goes up to about 68, becuase the fan doesn't kick in til around 65, and I can't change this in the BIOS. Its a retail PC and I was wondering how bad that really is, I'm going to let it test @ 100% CPU for bout an hour and see how it fairs, if it melts, its under warranty  Seriously though, any feedback on these temps? ahodes1
Ran it for 5 mins this time and it got up to 70 C but it leveled out, since the fan speed is related to the temp. Should I be worried?
Septimus
You may want to apply some Arctic Silver Thernal paste to it. What speed is your CPU. Mine is 1.8 and it at 100% stays at 50DegC max. Your case temp should be about 30DegC. At worst your CPU fan is faulty. If the machine starts locking up or slowing down then you have something to worry about, but until then it should be ok. Its running fine, the temps are great when CPU usage is low, its a 1.8 P4 running Win2k Server as a domain controller, SQL server, SMS Server, Exchange, and all kinds of stuff, idle CPU usage is about 4% and it rarely gets a 100% CPU usage for long, I just don't like the fan not kicking in til 65 degrees, but its a good fan, once CPU usage slows down, its back to 40 C in a matter of seconds... so I'm just being paranoid? A P4 should be ok up to about 85 C in theory, in practice I doubt you want it going above 75. Seems as though your mainboard thinks everything is fine until 65. Strange that it doesn't allow you to change it in the Monitor settings of your bios.
