Radion8500LE or GF3Ti200?

Recommended Posts

I would disagree, I would go on the proven reliability and performance of the GF3 Ti200. It has gained better results than the Radeon in a couple of benchmarks I looked at. I am going to be buying a GF 3 Ti200 128Mb next week hopefully. Only ?88 brand new Retail Boxed.

I have both cards....the GeForce gets around 6400 on 3dmark in an Athlon 1900, stock and no overclocking. The Radeon 8500 gets 8400 on 3dmark stock. Your mileage may vary. If *graphics* (2D) clarity and sharpness are what your after then DEFINATELY get the Radeon......with the new ATI drivers out today I'd say go for the Radeon. If you game a *lot* and plan to tweak/overclock your card then go with the GeForce....

lets check out a review that has the two cards in it

Its a close call but it seems that the 8500 edges it out over the gf3 ti200 in most benches. I would read the review and see what games come out ontop with what card to make a final decision. As for the drivers, ATI has excellent drivers, yeah, they were slow a while back, but there are no problems now.

The last card i bought was a geforce 3 ti200, i was planning on getting the Radeon 8500 LE but the tech at best buy advised me to go with the geforce3 ti200 so i took his advice and went with it. He said that the LE's are pos and they are like the Geforce mx series..

Its a awesome card and well worth it. All games run really well and tv out works great.

I got mine from newegg.com They have it for $99 + shipping = $107

An absolute bargain.

Honest, Neither, Geforce 4 Ti 4200 is better performance and a better value than both of them.

Although i would have liked to but in a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 the budget the lad has given me to build the pc doesn't allow it..... just aint enough cash... I've only got ?600 to play with.

This is the card im thinkin of putting in...

I got a Gf3 Ti200 for ?90 (a few months ago), spent a few quid on a crystal orb and new memory heatsinks, ten minutes replacing the fan, heatsink and adding and memory heatsink and viola - a card running quicker than a Ti500 for over ?100 less. The Ti200s are great for overclocking and the modifications mentioned above can be done by anyone (I'm no hardcore overclocker, just want to save cash!). It is also rock solid stable and games run great, nothing I've thrown at it yet game-wise has caused any problems.

Instructions for overclocking here.

I considered a Radion but seeing as my mobo chipset is nVidia I thought they may work better together, and have always found their GFX cards dependable and fast.

GET THE RADEON. /me chants RADEON RADEON RADEON. The cards are far superior to nvidia in the department of image quality. If u are looking for quality go for the 8500 and oh btw the new Catalyst drivers ****in RULE!!
