How can enable "Powermizer" For Geforce4 Go?

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone i just got my new Dell Inspiron 8200 Laptop, with the 64MB Geforce4 440 Go Chipset, How can I enable the "Powermizer" feature? Apparenlty Dell hasn't enabled it for me, or i'm just no looking in the right place. I've installed the latest 29.60 WHQL Drivers from Nvidia, does anyone have any information that could help me, enabling this feature.

Powermizer is used to conserve battery life by allowing you to scale down the setting for the Nvidia Chipset.

Thanks

oh yeh, just to say, i dont think it actually allows you to have any say in how the chipset will operate, but infact it will stop power to various chips when they are not in use, such as not needing video decoding crap when playing a game.

Well i found the solution, its quite easy too.

In your registry, under the nvidia folder > nvtweak, delete the NOPAGES key and add a DWORD key called PowerMizer and give it a value of 1, reboot your pc and you should now see under your nvidia properties, a powermizer tab.

cool, looks like you ended up helping me, lol, thanks :)

strange tho, seeing as it is 0wnly a slider, i wonder what it actually changes.

it lowers the volatge of the GPU. basically when its set to the left its running at the lowest power, middle is a blend, and right is full power baby. ;)

when its set to the left you can get 2 extra hours of battery power.

its great because why would you want it at full force when your just surfing the net or writting something, you want it full force when playing games.
