As the question asks, which font smoothing method do you use?

I personally use Standard. ClearType for me makes text less sharper and harder to read despite trying to tune it with the ClearType tuning wizard. :s

What do you use?

(I have a modern 17in Philips 107E5 GS4 CRT)

Cleartype tweaked on 1920x1200 laptop.

Don't use it on my desktop as one LCD has the opposite LCD striping to the other, means one looks great but the other looks bad - as far as I could see there was no way of picking different LCD stripings for multiple displays.

ClearType isn't meant to be used with CRT monitors. I thought this was common knowledge.

Standard on 17" CRT. Although, ClearType does smooth out the fonts nicely.

Some people use ClearType simply to clarify their fonts regardless whether their using a CRT or TFT.

Same here! Princeton 19" AGF 900 CRT.

So what it's 'meant for LCDs only', it still makes one heck of a difference on my CRT!

Its weird.. when I first tried it out, I hated it. But I left it switched on, and to be honest now i'd never dream of switching it back off again!

Just regular Cleartype, not 'tuned' at all.
