0 77SunsideStrip
Kaspersky. More than a firewall: a bodyguard. 24/7, updates its contact lenses every hour. I do get satisfaction. :D
0 W1cked-J
I used to be a big Trend Micro user till I had the chance to work with Kaspersky in a Anti-Virus/Anti-Spam appliance and then I changed. Kaspersky is continually rated as one of the top A/V apps and I have to agree. For my mail server I like to use ClamAV.... :D
0 theyarecomingforyou
what do u mean? NOD32 is even slower then norton!!! I can't tell whether you were being witty/sarcastic, but I'll reply with this anyway... putting aside the fact that Norton is one of the worst performing antivirus programs from a security and performance point-of-view, NOD32 is widely regarded as one of the fastest antivirus programs out there - combine that with it's unbeaten track-record and it's no wonder it has become the most popular amongst the tech community / knowledgeable users. However, I give Symantec credit for making Norton look pretty and for having a good brand name, despite serious flaws in the product.
0 ShiFteDReaLitY
i ahve a question my friend needs a free anti-virus andi was wondering which was the best of the free ones besides AVG since ive used that one before and dont real care for it. but anyways which one has lower resources and better detection rate etc... Avast! or AntiVir? or is there another good free one anyone can reccomend?
0 Galley
I always recommend Avast for new users, since it's entirely seemless. All virus definition and product updates are done automatically.
0 .Ryan
I always recommend Avast for new users, since it's entirely seemless. All virus definition and product updates are done automatically. Yes, I stongly agree. Avast is a very easy program to operate and does a great job. It has done great things for me. :D AA^SF-C0MMAND0 PS: This is way off topic, but is userbars.com ( the place where you can make your signature ) down? 0 Slimy
I haven't tried the latest antivir version so I can't discuss that. However, avast beats avg and it's the better free av for sure.

0 Stokkolm
AVG is way better though. Why didnt' you like it?
0 Slimy
AVG is way better though. Why didnt' you like it? Because it's not better? I've seen avg fail to remove way too many viruses for me to ever trust it again. It has fallen into the large corporation hole, like mcafee and norton products. IMHO. 0 morebaker
AVG detects but fails to remove for me. AVAST detects and removes most.

0 cropcircles
Avast anti-virus The top anti-virus award winner at SC Magazine for 2006. Pretty cool. http://www.scawards.com/us-finalists.asp
0 joe_banana
avast is great but not for low memory computers.. bogs down the computer.. i'd reccommend antivir detects a lot comparable to paid antivirus.
0 Shoop
I understand there are already antivirus polls and topics around but AVG and Nod32 appear to be not most popular free antiviruses around. I use AVG free but I will perhaps change to Nod32 depending on the results of this topic. If you believe one is better than the other please give reasons as detailed as possible. 0 +Warwagon MVC Posted December 30, 2005 MVC Share Posted December 30, 2005 last time I checked nod32 wasn't free. They have a trial version of Nod but not a free one, I would choose Avast for free
0 Farstrider
I presume that you realise that Eset NOD32 is NOT free! You get a free limited trial version of NOD32! AVG free is a good product but not near to NOD32 in terms of detection and overall features!
