I block everything. Nothing will get past this trusty Firefox. I update my Adblock every week just to make sure one of those stupid ads gets through. Only thing I love more than using the net is seeing the net with no freaking ads.

One goddamn ad I see and its gone. Wiped out.

LOL. I sounded ****ed but I'm pretty calm. I just dislike ads. Ha.

Yes. I absolutely love the Adblock extension. I'm so used not to seeing ads nowadays that you can imagine my reaction when I do see ads in Internet Explorer...

I don't block ads but not because I think it's stealing or anything. I just don't block them.

They are stealing your bandwith and your browsing experience and thats ok?

It isn't right to make people see that crap on every site everyday. Most of it is bullsh*t anyways.

Use your adblock and go to Enviromental Chemistry and you find a webmaster that thinks just that.

Web Publishers like myself provide content. Companies like Opera deliver that content. Each has to find a way to make a living. There are many publishers and there are many content delivery companies. As a company Opera is saying if they are to deliver a publisher's content, they are going to place an ads in their toolbar that is targeted based on the content of the webpage being displayed. If a publisher does not agree to these terms, their only option is to block Opera and prevent Opera users from accessing their content.

Can someone please explain to me why that would bother a "web publisher"

I'm sure like many Opera users you will be justifibly upset at being denied access to webpages you requested.  Your gevience isn't with the website that blocked you, rather with Opera who uses predatory practices to increase profits for their shareholders.

Moron

Hehe! I don't use ff nor adblock. I use proxomitron which blocks not only the ads there but also that "little" script which checks whether ads are blocked.

There is an extension called adblock plus where you can whitelist (exclude) sites from blocking ads and would solve your problem, but I'd say you have a bad filter/rule in your list.

More info on adblock plus Here and Here

I hate ads and popups. That is one of the many reasons on why I sticked with Mozilla because the extensions that go with it - AdsBlock simply rocks!
