ajc4000
Hi all, A very specific question, so I don't know if anybody will know the answer. At the moment I'm using Firefox, but I used Opera in the pre 7.5 days, and I'm interested in giving version 8 a proper go, but not with the ads present. I'm at the University of Oxford in the UK and so I believe I'm entitled to the ad free version for free, but I have no idea where to get it from / the registration code to use. I've tried searching on Google and the university pages and there's loads to stuff saying that the university is signing a site licence with Opera (some of these pages are from April 2004) but nothing about where to actually get it from. Does anybody have any ideas?

blik
The university is entitled to a free Site License. I.e. the machines on site can have a free copy of Opera. That doesnt mean that because you're a student you get a free copy for your personal computer at home. You can get a student discount, works out being roughly ?10 which isnt too much really... ajc4000
Found a page for the computing shop that says that they have free licenses of opera available, but you have to download it rather than get a CD copy. The catch of course is that you have to go and see them *in person* to be told where the download link is. Seems a bit of a silly method but oh well. * Treks off to the Computing Services *
