ScottKin
Utterly Amazing! This thread, actually, has nothing to do with British Comedy or said British Comedy shows on the Telly - it's about the average Brit's sense of humor and ability to laugh. Frankly, If I were a Brit I'd have plenty to laugh at: The shennanigans in Parliment The Royals Elton John Madonna-nee-Esther following Kaballah and adopting a British accent. Now - how old are most of those "funny British Comedy Shows"? Monty Python: last TV episodes done in the early 70's Blackadder & Blackadder II - late 70's Mr. Bean: Early 80's Fawlty Towers: Early 80's Red Dwarf: Late 80's Doctor In The House: Late 60's Are You Being Served: Early 70's What has been done on British Television that is RECENT and as funny as these shows? Yes, the old series mentioned above are comedy classics...but they are just that: classic, meaning "no-one-is-ever-going-to-make-something-as-funny-as-these-shows-unless-someone-decides-to-throw-out-Political-Correctness-on-it's-bum-along-with-SirFrigginEltonBuggerPantsJohn-and-MadonnaWithTheSpittingGapAsWideAsTheThamesSoundingLikeACockneyWhore. Give us something more substantial other than Graham Norton acting more Gay than Sir Elton! ...And Yes, my "silly walk" is vastly more developed than yours! :woot: --ScottKin Edited June 8, 2005 by ScottKin

( this was shown 2004 ) recent enough for you? I think your right though, there arn't half as many, but still.. the office is pretty recent, there's quite a few others too, i mentioned red dwarf because its a timeless classic, also bottom is brilliant :). and guesthouse paradiso the film is awesome, and that was made in the late 90's. yert*
So what; An article says the Brits have a bad sense of humor! Obviously the person or people who did the study and wrote the article on 1000 people are idiots if they are gonna generalize millions of people. There really is no need to defend yourself if you are from Britain. (OMG, im so 1337) Edited June 9, 2005 by yert*
Chad
Thread cleaned. Since when did we say you could flame someone for their opinion? I've never seen a group of people get so unruly over such a stupid arguement. Comedy is subjective. I can say I can't stand British comedies (which is pretty much true), but hey, that's just me. Quit taking yourselves so seriously and lighten up.
