Adding text to Firefox titlebar

Recommended Posts

I have just started up an isp in my local area and I plan on adding Firefox 1.0.4 to my software cd's for my customers .. I'd like to do a custom branding I just hope a license with MoFo isn't involved

I have already posted about this in my spreadfirefox blog so I'll find out about that sooner or later

here'a lil quick 'n' dirty mockup I did in Paint so better show you what I'm talking about

any help would be appreciated

thanks again,

STanger

that doesn't work with 1.0.4 and I'm not going to change the extensions version number in about:config to get it working either ...

I install it and I get "not a valid install package" errors

<edit>there should be a way to do this without any about:config hacking...now I'm getting "extension not compatible" errors</edit>

while the original version which I tried to install from cosmiccatcreations.com didn't even install .. the bump version at that page you linked installed just fine

thank you very much ... now I just have to wait for a reply from Asa Dotzler whom I emailed about this a few hours ago .. hopefully this can continue without a hitch ... thanks again Drake :D

even changing one pixel would change the binary. thats just how things are. you should compile your own build and when you do that you use some command in your mozconfig like

-official-branding or something liek that to take out the official branding, then you use the default unofficial branding or customize however you please

then that would kinda defeat the purpose of it all ... guess I'll just include it without any changes cuz the computer I'm on now takes forever to compile anything

eh I'll just forget about it .. I thought I'd have to compile my own build .. just don't have the time right now .. my plate is rather full with my kids and everything else but I'll get around to it sooner or later I guess

thanks
