Xeon 3.06ghz on the rise

I read somewhere that the Xeon 3ghz processor will be coming out in the net few months...on this pace we will all have outdated processors in 1 years time..lol. no matter how much we try to keep up, they keep dishing them out, AMD and Intel have locked themselves in this never ending race, can anyone say 5ghz by 2004!

5GHz by 2004 EASILY.

I think there will be a higher ghz out by 2004. Now I just wonder how fast computers will be able to go.

PS - Can you make your sig a bit bigger, Qba73. It's a little too short :p

Hopefully this "processor race" won't lead to both of the companies dishing out crap processors. They would try to get the chip out on the market as fast as they could and leave out vital testing steps.

I agree, Intel rushed the P4 onto the market with the crappy 423 socket interface. AMD on the other hand, waited a while, and in the end which processor performs better? The Athlon XP of course :p
