What version are you running?

Edit: You can simply remove it by clicking View>Uncheck Status Bar. As for fixing the size, I'm not sure.

Edit2: What happens if you switch themes? Turn off adblock?

Does it always display that XXX thing? Try scanning for spyware or reinstalling firefox. It will save your themes, extensions, and stuff like that if you uninstall.

I didn't have Adblock so I installed it to check it's options and saw nothing there, but when I uninstalled it, my firefox stopped working. Now I'm on IE. Anyways, the only thing I can think of is spyware. Try disabling all extensions and switching themes, just to rule out something there.

Looks like something involving a faulty extension.

First, you need to calm down a bit.

Hit CTRL + R, type in Application Data, and Move (not copy) the Mozilla folder to your desktop. Then go to the folder where Firefox was installed and delete it. Now, reinstall the program, without any extensions or themes. The problem should go away.

The XXX doesn't mean its sex-related spyware in this case. It is used to denote a comment made by some developer about the code.

looks like your profile is corrupt..

it could be just the theme that is corrupt but you tried replacing it..

you can start firefox without loading any themes or extensions by starting firefox in "safe mode" (it will still load your userChrome.css and user.js)

make a shortcut to firefox but add -safe-mode at the end of the target line

shortcut target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

then you can load firefox and delete any themes or extensions you want

but it sounds like you should just make a new profile and re-install your themes and extensions

you can find your profile in a hidden folder C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

delete your profile and you shouldnt have to reinstall your entire firefox
