change the FBS in the bios... and do some testing.

i use HOT CPU TESTER to test the heat

on my P3 700 @ 868 normal temp is 35C-40C

highest temp is 40-55C

correct me if i'm wrong BUT i thought that you needed to modiffy some stuffs on the processor physically in order to overclock an AMD athlon.................

i still don't recommend overclocking .....^^.........just not worth it...........1.2G is fast enough already.......mine is still a 450MHz...--.--

With the amd's they are 2 ways of overclocking...one is to unlock the multiplier (which is risky! cause u have to physically alter the chip..not recommended) and second (if you have a mobo with the opts) just turn up the fsb..

Note: to overclock you need good memory (quality) and most important of all, amd are notorious for running HOT! so dont do it with a stock cooler, or you'll be making breakfast on your cpu..lol

Once read a post where someone could literally cook an egg on a overclocked amd...lol

Also when you turn up the fsb everything on the system speeds up not jus the cpu....in cloing turning up the fsb in the bios is your best bet.

iomayho; i believe pp overclock for the challenge and the fustration of being outdated before you can get the damn chip home..lol.
