Toxikk, if I make the menus that way then the startmenu looks ugly, cause the highlight color for the logoff and shutdown buttons will be different.

Chris

Could we see a screenie of how the start menu would look if it were done that way?... menus with the outline seem really nice to me... >.<

just invision big blue rectangles around them.

Shellstyle

I realized the other day that the shellstyle I created for the blue colour scheme in my Metallic Shades visual style actually looks pretty good with the Watercolor ergonomic colour scheme. Or at least it does in my opinion!! I partially based the title bars in Metallic Shades off those in Whistler (or maybe it was Watercolor!!) so it's a good match.

If anyone wants it just download the whole visual style from the first post in the Metallic Shades 1.5 thread (save me uploading just the shellstyle - 56k dialup). It should be fairly easy to change it to suit the other colour schemes.

My Trillian skin is updated to v1.2:

Fixed the preview thingy

I didnt find a post with an updated version so I thought I'd post.

the color isnt changed for the plugin heading titles things.

Thanks!

hi, i think ive found a bug in watercolor. When you are in msconfig and you go to the services or startup tab when a box is ticked it doesnt show unless it is selected. Also could somone please explain to me what a shell style is??

thanks

Dan

:D I don't have your bug.

A shellstyle.dll is what defines how the boxes at the left of a folder window looks like. You know, the "Tasks" pane...

are you using the latest version? *see first post in this thread for current build* because I dont have this bug.

just my 2 cents on the topic of discussion goin on here... I think Red would be a cool color to add to this theme as there is already a grey which looks alot of like to Black. In regards to the outlining on the menus I think that looks really nice, I would love to see that implemented to the next version of Watercolor.

i just installed the lastest version but i still have the problem ive attached a pic of the prob in the pic all of those startup items are selected but only the one ive selected shows

mine is fine

and Bain, as I said above, I WILL NOT be doing the menus that way for the reasons mentioned above.

Chris

I mentioned this problem 2 or 3 weeks ago.

It's occurs only at 16 or 24 bit color mode.(Settings on Display property)

Any other themes don't have this problem, so I guess it's a bug of Watercolor.

Start panel idea?

*ripped it from toxikk's site :p

That might be doable in my watercolor plus version I'll be making, if you wish :) First I wanna get this theme as bug free and finished as possible, hopefully this will be done while I'm on xmas break :) For the Plus version you can ALL have your say, and we will collectively figure out what it should look like. :) I'll make a new thread for ideas when that time comes.

I also have another colour idea, but it's gonna stay a secret (it will only be distributed on it's own as a sort of "promo" item ;)).

I didnt dismiss the bug, I just said I dont have it. Why would people use 16 or 24 bit colour for XP anyways, that doesnt make sense (mmmm eye candy) :\ I'll try to fix it.

Chris

watercolor should have. thin (er) task bar. a SIMPLE start menu. and a start button that is an image, not Micro$ists "start"

Many other theme makers easily added simple "slim" editions, with simple start button option, start menu options ( no bloated picture )

could you make a simple slimer edition?

well, it isnt that simple for me to make a thin taskbar, I have to modify bitmaps aswell as change values, and thats x4. But I'll get around to it. As for the picture, no I wont remove it. :)

    • Well Statcounter doesn't count Edge users as Chrome. It uses the user agent and my understanding is the Brave browser users the standard Chrome user agent for privacy/tracking reasons and compatibility so that would help the Chrome numbers. Some Firefox users change the user agent for again compatibility reasons. I am going to totally guess the Chrome numbers are inflated some 5 or 6%.
