that's funny. :) but isn't that card an old old old, somewhat dated card? it's got something like half the bandwidth of a TNT2 card? ouch.

i find it pretty stupid to us consumers (smart for nvidia) and indeed very evil that nvidia released all the tnt2s before they started marketing only the m64 when the geforce came out. almost as if they wanted us to buy another nvidia card a month later. big business basturdos

i sadly have the same or a simlar card. i wasnt able to overclock is by more than a few mHz, and even then it locked up.

i dont even think this card has a fan, just a heaksink, thats how crappy it is.

any overclocking you are able to successfully get out of it wont affect your performace appreciably.

i don't know about you, but its geforce4 time for me

note to you: if you get gf4, dont bother with the mx series, most of them also only ft. a passive cooling sys. i mean not even until after the gf4ti4200 do they even come with ramsinks. but thats ccording to ref design, if you go someone like gainward, you get the bestr.

I can't believe people still have, use, and try to overclock something as old and worthless as a TNT2. I have one - but it's only purpose is to allow my router to POST.

Anyways, if you have a TNT2, I feel for you. Go buy a Geforce2 mx for 20 bucks, or, better yet, buy a real video card (Geforce 3 ti 200 and up).

Heh, vast majority of laptop users don't need a good video card (just something good enough to browse the web, email, office-software, etc).

There are 4 versions of the TNT2:

TNT2 M64:

Memory Speed: 150 MHz

Pixels Per Second: 250 Million

Memory Bandwidth: 1.2 GB/s

TNT2:

Memory Speed: 150 MHz

Pixels Per Second: 250 Million

Memory Bandwidth: 2.4 GB/s

TNT2 Pro:

Memory Speed: 166 MHz

Pixels Per Second: 284 Million

Memory Bandwidth: 2.65 GB/s

TNT2 Ultra:

Memory Speed: 183 MHz

Pixels Per Second: 300 Million

Memory Bandwidth: 2.90 GB/s

Needless to say, you can see that the M64 version is severely crippled compared to even the original TNT2. Usually, if you have an M64 model that includes a fan, you can overclock the memory up to 160 MHz and the core up to 140 MHz. Tried it on a friend's computer and got it stable at that point with just the standard heat sink and 3rd party fan on it. It only gave him a few more FPS, but he would take all the extra performance from it he could get. :)

I had one of those for a long time before i had my ti4400, it is not a bad card. runs CS fine, will run WC3 fine. It's not a bad card, you just cant bump up the res and colors too high, if you like gaming and 800x600 x16 isnt good enough for you then pay a little more. I had my tnt2 o/c'd a ridiculous amount but i would 3dmark it each time and it never made more than a 5 point difference. if you defrag your hd it makes that much of a difference. you cant play MOHAA or RTCW with out suffering through the darkness of 16 bit, but i tell you what, it is not a bad cheapie card for 10 bones. especially for a laptop, we cant all have g4ce2go cards in our inspiron 8200's some people bought these cards lets respect this card as being a decent nvidia card that only fallsshort of the geforce series. i mean as far as that goes i could tease someone with a geforce 3 ti200 and saying that is the bottom of the line and if they want a real GPU get a ggeforce 4 or go home, but we all know tha tthe bottom of the line geforceti200 for the g3 or the ti4200 g4 are the best buy for you money, you can usually get two card up specs with o/c ing and you dont even have to pay the extra 150 dollars fo rht enicer card. we all know and love nvidia. lets let their past be history and landmarks. we dont tease washington for using a horse when we have tanks now. Even if he rode a donkey. that was better than walking. It's not a voodoo2 and its not a matrox (what was that old card 4mb whatever... with the add on chip) Watch what the parhelia and the ATI9000 do in comparison to the nv30, the only issue will be the late release of the nv30. i have seen benchmarks and the ti4600 kills the 8500 and the parhelia in virtually everytest. so be the few be the proud be the nvidia owners. lets work together as an nvidia loving family,
